Our clients in this arena are businesses, governments and financial institutions. We analyse their business and get to the heart of their financial requirements, acting as a trusted advisor. We then apply our local knowledge along with our global expertise in order to provide them with financial solutions which enable effective global operations. This demands real joined-up thinking, the ability to achieve challenging objectives, and the determination to make things happen.

The three-year Wholesale Banking Track will give you a thorough introduction to the fundamental aspects of this area of our business. This will include producing high-quality credit analyses, managing customer relations, and making detailed appraisals for corporate clients. You will be assigned to specific projects before moving on to your first position with ING Bank.

Track timeline

First challenge

This might be as an Assistant Relationship Manager in the Clients division. This involves supporting your Manager by collecting information about the sector and clients and helping to draw up documentation and carry out transactions.

Second challenge

Next, you might find yourself in the complex and demanding field of Structured Finance or Corporate Finance. In Structured Finance you assist with sector-dependent structured financing transactions. This includes (financial) analysis of clients and periodic evaluations of transactions. You produce high-quality credit analysis and assist in the implementation of transactions and projects. In Corporate Finance you assist in drawing up financial models and making detailed appraisals of corporate clients. You are involved in the preparation of marketing pitches and the drafting of information memoranda. The Management Team relies on you for process implementation and coordination.

Your first position

A first position could be as an account manager in Financial Markets, responsible for combining our various products into a structured solution for our clients. You develop and interpret market models to support client analysis or establish account plans on the basis of balance sheet analysis. You assist in the acquisition and management of internal and external customer relations, and in the selling process of the entire Financial Markets product range. You also play an advisory role in selling structured solutions.
