International Talent Programme

Are you a young master graduate with global ambitions eager to develop your potential?

ING offers you the chance to make the absolute most of your talent in a traineeship within the bank: the International Talent Programme (ITP). During the course of the traineeship ING will invest in your future now to develop the experts and leaders of tomorrow.

It won’t be easy, but it will  be fun!

Craft your career your way

Right from the start you get to decide your career path among eight different tracks: Finance, HR, Analytics, IT, Operations & Change, Retail Banking, Risk and Wholesale Banking.

Our traineeship is a two year programme. It starts with three rotations, of which you can even do one abroad, if circumstances allow. After these three rotations you start in your permanent role. The traineeship offers a lot of flexibility. What does this mean? You’ll start within your traineeship track. One of your three rotations can be done in a different track, to give you the opportunity to experience and make impact on our clients, products or processes from a different angle.

The first year

During the first year of your traineeship you’ll do two projects (rotations) of six months each. We will help you to find your first project, taking into account how we got to know you during the selection procedure as well as your own personal preferences and, of course, ING’s requirements. During your first or second rotation you’ll also attend your first Global Trainee event: a week where all trainees of your ‘year group’ come together in Amsterdam (if circumstances allow) to learn, network and develop yourself.

Develop your potential

ING needs people with the drive to take on big challenges and the leadership skills to bring others along with them. That’s why over the course of the programme we’ll work with you to develop that potential in three key areas:

  • Banking skills: know our Think Forward Strategy, learn the basics of banking in a broad perspective and the environment we are operating in.
  • Personal growth: learning how to lead, communicate and collaborate.
  • Professional development: gaining specific expertise.

You’ll also have the opportunity to obtain internationally recognised certifications related to banking and your area of expertise, which will benefit your career within ING and beyond.

Start your international network

As a global bank, we need global minded experts and leaders. That’s why for your second project you can choose to go abroad, if circumstances allow,  in one of our 20 countries – otherwise we’d have just called it the International Talent Programme!

Furthermore, every year you will join a global learning event where you’ll meet your fellow trainees from around the world: two intense events of learning, collaborating and connecting. The start of your international network.
