Project Manager (Franchise Project), Insurance Europe, Poland

My career with ING began in December 2005 when I joined the Management Trainee Program in Poland. My first assignment was with HR. Were I was responsible for the career path for VIP advisors at ING Bank Slaski. It was very challenging project because I had no previous experience with HR or even in finance - I was thrown into the deep end! This situation gave me more power, more adrenalin and triggered my desire to deliver results. I learnt a lot and the outcome of my work was today’s training and exams systems for VIP advisors. It was completed almost two years ago but it still works well!

My next project was in Ops & IT. I was responsible for improving the quality of data (credits, loans, mortgages) sent from Polish databases to a warehouse in Amsterdam. This project allowed me to understand a lot about risk and economics. It was a very exciting experience for a man with an IT background.

My current project is called “Franchise concept” and it is one of most challenging projects in ING Nationale-Nederlanden in Poland. I am responsible for building a new sales channel. This assignment requires much more flexibility from me and much more self-discipline. I have had to understand all areas of the insurance business, both back and front office and “copy” them in some way into franchise network. I developed a new sales channel but also I have strong feeling that my personal growth is on the fast track.

It has been more then two years since I joined ING Group. What can I say from that perspective? It was a really fascinating time for me. I am satisfied very much from my choice of two years ago – I chose ING. During this time I had the chance to participate in many different training programmes, meet other members of Trainee Programmes from different counties, and of course, develop myself.

What is most important for me? I still see great opportunities for future growth, to develop my skills and gain new responsibilities.
