Operational Design, Control & Resilience empowers ING to be in control of all non-financial risks and to deliver compliant best-in class customer experiences at the right cost by providing a consistent, holistic, and process-based view on risks and controls and providing the capabilities to ensure processes improvement.

Operational Design, Control & Resilience is responsible to ensure the consistent, effective, and efficient implementation of the Non-Financial Risk framework across our organization, provide insights on the status of our control environment to prioritize risk mitigation and to proof compliance to internal and external stakeholders, support the design and implementation of effective, efficient controls.

Operational Design, Control & Resilience involves and enables the bank’s Risk Owners in carrying out their role as responsible for control and resilience, focusing on the efficiency and effectiveness of the processes and activities of the first line of defense (1LoD), optimizing collaboration with our stakeholders.

The selected candidate will be part of the ODCR Team (Control & Resilience Business Partners) and will work on non-financial risk helping the Process Leader in performing walkthrough of end-to-end business processes, assessing, and identifying risks following policies procedures and guideline, designing mitigating, and evaluating controls, tracking, and monitoring identified gaps and reporting to the management in a structured way.

Key responsibilities 

The Control & Resilience Business Partner ensures adequate understanding of risk ownership and risk management across the organization through the following activities:

  • Supports and/or coordinates Business Owner in the timely assessment and documentation of inherent and residual risks in products, processes, and applications, collaborating with PARP Gatekeeper to ensure the compliance to the Product Approval Review Process (PARP)
  • Supports Business Owner in specific Risk & Identification Assessment activities and in tracking and monitoring of related Mitigative actions
  • Supports Business Owner for process control design, considering effectiveness, efficiency, and customer experience.
  • Supports Business & Control Owners for Gap analysis and monitoring of (new) global policies, control standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Coordinates Issue Owner for timely definition on Issues and Events
  • Control & Resilience Business Partner collaborates with Sourcing gatekeeper to ensure that, as Business Partner, Contract Managers monitor and manage accurately their own risks on their own sourcing arrangements.
  • Collaborates with Operational & Resilience team to ensure that, as Business Partner, Process owners monitor and manage accurately their own process and services according to the Operational Resilience requirement.
  • Provides the Business Owner with a holistic view and advise on the effectiveness and efficiency of the risk control environment across value chains, processes, policies, and risk categories.
  • Cooperates with the other areas of the Department, to facilitate the harmonized development of an overall framework covering processes, risk and control logs and internal documentation (policies and procedures).

 

Required Skills

The Control & Resilience Business Partner should fulfill the following requirements

  • High proficiency in verbal and written English.
  • Strong networking, establishing, and maintaining positive working relationships with others, both internally and externally, to achieve the goals of the organization.
  • Excellent Knowledge of MS Office Package, SharePoint, MS Teams
  • Knowledge of risk and control environments, including identification, definition, assessment, and mitigation of control gaps and/or weaknesses is necessary.
  • Possess excellent organizational and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Be well organized, pro-active, self-motivated, and eager to learn.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision whilst also being able to collaborate with multiple team members.
  • Problem solving skills and strong orientation to the objective and to meet strict deadline.
  • Good flexibility, integration, and facilitation skills and speak up and Activation attitude.
