Data Engineer

Job Description:

Candidate will develops and enhance software applications through coding and testing, involved in code reviews and training.

He/she will deliver highest quality software by creating unit test plan and testing code thoroughly.

Adept with the tools, applications, and processes used for software development, implements solutions as designed in technical documentation specification and coding standards.

He/She will create project documentations and coordinate technical issues, Knows the business rules and concepts, software specifications and designs provided by the technical lead and apply them in completing the assigned task.

He/She will supports the business in gathering technical requirements and feed technical analysis and development activities.

He/She will be responsible for the quality of the code release in production and for the timeness of the production running.

Your Key Responsibilities:

• Application development according to ING Bank standards.
• Work in an agile team in adherence with the solution design and enterprise architect team.
• Follow and support Business in gathering technical requirements.
• Write high quality functional and technical documentation.
• Implement high quality code and propose/implement optimization on code design.
• Design, write and perform Unit Tests and Functional Tests.
• Work with Release team for code versioning management.
• Follow and support team defect and bug identification and resolution during test phase.
• Identify and resolve production issue.

What are we looking for?

• Candidate have a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science/Information Technology/Engineering (computer/telecommunications)
• He/she Has knowledge or relevant work experience in any of the following programming languages or technologies: Unix, Oracle SQL, IBM DataStage platform.
• Have sufficient knowledge in bug-fixing and code optimization;
• Must be an excellent team player in a different culture;
• Must display ability to learn in a short time and work a highly stimulating environment;
• Good English knowledge (written and spoken)
• Ability to communicate clearly and concisely across technology and the business teams, and bridging the gap between both
• Excellent communication skills, pro-active and easy to approach attitude
