The purpose of the Wholesale Banking (WB) Global Tribe Payments is tomake our clients successful by offering them seamlessly integrated paymentsolutions. The Tribe has a profit & loss responsibility (optimal return forING and society) for the payment product and services in scope. Main productservices are card services (merchant acquiring services and commercial cardservices) and payments services (SEPA payments, domestic payments and TIP)including the channel and API functionality and defines and drives the strategyto be a truly leading and innovative Payments bank in Europe. We anticipate anopen banking market and we enhance decision making based on data and smartanalytics.
We have a global mandate to improve products, pricing, processes,documentation and tooling in such a way that internationally operating clientsexperience ING as One Bank across the entire ING network (including MarketLeaders and C&G countries) and we have the asset ownership for all ITassets in scope. We are responsible for delivery of services towards ourwholesale clients but also deliver services towards domestic banks and internalstakeholders.
The ambition of ING is to deliver one combined value proposition to thecustomers, by deploying one organization, by operating one set of systems andby implementing one Agile Way of Working. A shared ownership for the ITplatform and one integrated IT backlog have been identified as key enablers forthis ambitious target. The IT Area Lead plays a key role in making this happenand in designing and executing a successful IT strategy.
The IT Area Lead WB Tech Payments in Belgium covers the following scope:
- Order Management (KIC-WTX)
- SEPA Direct Debits (DOM)
- SEPA Clearing (ICH)
True International Payments & FI Business(FCP-FCO)
- Reporting (TRAX-KOC)
The Area covers 13 chapters, counts approximately 130 people (internals/ T&M / outsourcing) and +/- 20 high & critical IT assets.
As IT area lead
You will work in the dynamic and challenging environment of the ITorganization of WB Tech. ‘Payments’ supplies products and services that are inprinciple cross-Tribe and are used by large parts of Wholesale Banking andsometimes the entire bank. Six areas have been identified, 5 based inAmsterdam, 1 in Belgium.

IT Custodianship of our WB applications aiming atkeeping reliability & IT Risk down
Predictable delivery of our software by Squads in yourarea where we live up to our promises with respect to quality, timelines andfeatures
Reliable operation of IT assets where KPIs forIncidents are met and SLAs respected
Stakeholder management and contribution to QBRs ofyour area
Technical leadership, while growing craftsmanship onthe part of IT Chapters in your area with an emphasis on

Your key responsibilities
1. Implementing and ensuring the 'new'culture and one Agile Way of Working

2. Developing craftsmanship of everyone working in the IT domaincross-border
You have Managementresponsibility for several Chapter Leads. You are also responsible for ensuringoverall IT maturity and for developing craftsmanship of the employees workingin the IT Area by:
EncouragingChapter Leads to continuously develop their capabilities and competencies to beaware of the latest developments in their field at all times
Overseeingoverall IT maturity in chapters and driving continuous craftsmanshipdevelopment in their IT Area across all countries.
Defining and implementing the IT strategy with properIT Landscape for the IT Area in line with ING’s IT strategy in order to realizethe purposes of the Tribes
Identifying and adopting applicable changes in themarket with regards to innovation, time to market, etc. for the IT Area
Ensuring a safe and compliant bank from an ITperspective (IT custodianship)
Delivery and IT-related decisions within the IT Area
- Defining and implementing vendor and sourcing strategy

Proven track record and technical skills
Master of Science in Computer Science or an equivalentfield
