Process Manager and Supervisor
An intense journey so far…
Before I started at ING as an external employee within Ormit and the ING Leadership & Development programme, I worked in IT consultancy. As a consultant, I crossed paths (sometimes internationally) with many different banks, where I implemented electronic banking solutions. Going from bank to bank, I was always looking for bigger systems, more complex processes to work with and increasingly challenging solutions. At ING, I found a large IT department in which I could grow and drive innovative projects. The cool thing about IT in a bank is that you get to play with and have to integrate both the old and the new infrastructure and systems.
In the two years I’ve been part of the Orange family, I’ve been on an intense journey. From working in different IT departments and roles (Commercial Banking Services, Group Services, Domestic Application Management) to being an active member of the RING (youth) network as well as winning the ICT Young Lady of the Year award last year – it’s all been part of the fun!
At ING, the motivation to rise up to every challenge you face is recognised and management will empower you to grow and take on more responsibility.
Good work/life balance
In my current role as Process Manager and Supervisor, I have led several demanding projects and been part of bringing about change in a company moving towards an agile way of working.
Although the agile way of working we have adopted in ITS means accelerating faster, the workflow is balanced by both scrum masters and agile coaches, a method that ensures a good work/life balance and gives me time to focus on my passions and hobbies.
At the centre of the game
I work within Incident & Problem Management where we aim to anticipate, detect and react to any service disruption (be it Home’Bank, Business’Bank or Smart Banking) before our customers are impacted. Here I am at the centre of the game – no two days are ever the same, which is ideal for me as I hate doing the same thing day in, day out. It’s almost like being in a thriller movie, only this is real life!
After an intense day, I enjoy going for a run in the park with my girls or working out at the gym. Weekends are usually for singing, going to the theatre or cinema, or having drinks with my friends.
By the time I get home in the evening, I’m satisfied that I’ve contributed to the bank’s success and made our customers happy, which only serves to drive me on even more!
