Chapter Lead - Engineering

 We have an exciting opportunity for a Chapter Lead (Engineering Lead) to join our Delivery Team at ING. As a Chapter Lead at ING you will function in one of our squads and also work in a cross-cutting role driving advancement in our engineering practices. Your role will be split between the management and mentoring of your chapter members and technical software engineering duties. You will be a leader in the software engineering community and will remain highly aware of industry trends, bringing the best of global engineering practices to ING. You will actively work in a Guild (community of people with the same interests) closest to your skillset & level of expertise and provide alignment across the Chapter you are leading.

Main responsibilities
  • Work along the full lifecycle of software engineering – end to end software development
  • Engineer solutions which are highly secure and performant at scale
  • People leadership including coaching and mentoring engineers and chapter members to increase capability
  • Encourage knowledge sharing and the application of standards within the field
  • Continuous improvement
About You
The successful candidate will have:
  • 5+ years’ experience in development/software engineering
  • Technical leadership experience in delivery for significant software applications/projects
  • Expert in 5+ development languages
  • Expert in full stack development
  • Demonstrated experience and proficient understanding of tools across full software delivery lifecycle
  • Exposure to cloud technologies and automation
  • Excellent time management skills
