The Opportunity
We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Compliance Manger – Advisory to join our compliance team at ING Australia. The Compliance Manager – Advisory plays a pivotal role within the compliance department in assisting ING meet banking regulatory requirements in Australia and head office obligations in Amsterdam. 

  

You will have end to end compliance responsibilities in managing ING’s superannuation, insurance, and investments products. You will be a subject matter expert in super and wealth related products and be responsible in pro-actively developing, managing and ensuring the business maintains a best practice compliance framework. 

 
This is a true business facing role, providing compliance advisory services to support senior stakeholders with everything from existing to product development and new product launches. You will be tasked to communicate with business stakeholders in a professional manner, build strong rapport, and assist the business embed compliance culture and practices as part of day to day business operations. 

 
Our compliance team is a close knit and collaborative team. You are encouraged to use innovative approaches when completing tasks and achieve compliant solutions for the business.

Responsibilities

  • Proactively promote and maintain an effective and sustainable compliance culture throughout ING Australia
  • Provide expert compliance advice to support the retail bank leadership team
  • Participate in the Product Approval Committee meetings for new products and processes
  • Advise stakeholders on new and upcoming regulatory changes and assess business impacts
  • Conduct targeted compliance risk and policy reviews and implement any necessary changes in the framework
About You
  • Degree qualified in accounting, commerce, law or related discipline
  • Strong understanding and proven working knowledge of legal, regulatory and industry code obligations that relate to financial products and services (specifically superannuation, insurance and investments products)
  • Ability to understand and research legal and compliance issues 
  • Proven capacity to interpret and translate legal, compliance and regulatory obligations into plain English workable policies and guidelines
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and an ability to successfully negotiate and deal with change
