IT Dev Engineer/SWIFT
Permanent Contract, Full-time, Belgium, Brussels
Your role & work environment
You will work as an IT Dev Engineer in the Financial Messaging (SWIFT) area, playing key role in the transformation of the business requirements into detailed deliverables and managing the end-to-end execution.
You will be part one of the squads in the Payment Tribe covering, among others, the IT Dev Engineering activities of the ING Global Competence Centre for Financial Messaging (SWIFT).
Your key responsibilities
  • You are able to translate new financial messaging (SWIFT) product / services needs into required IT solutions and are able to grasp business opportunities from new technology solutions. You think and act globally.
  • You can slice and refine complex features until the level of concrete user stories, you can prepare functional analysis/technical analysis documents for the DevOps teams. You manage the size and complexity of features to stories in refinement and planning sessions.
  • You have an up-to-date vision regarding IT expertise and you also have functional knowledge of financial messaging (SWIFT, Screening). You have a broad and diverse set of competencies that allow you to design, develop, test and deliver applications and/or infrastructure services in the scope of your squad in this domain. You clarify the definition of done together with the product owner(s).
    Ensure delivery (Planning, coordination, dependencies management)
  • You are and feel responsible for the end-to-end integration and realization of the work (across teams. You owns the planning, align / coordinate the work across the whole chain and inspires individuals and teams creating lasting synergy.
  • You identify and manage dependencies for features across different teams. You identify, manage and closely interact with stakeholders for collaboration or to solve impediments
    Keep business and IT knowledge up to date, and keep track of relevant trends and outlooks
  • You have an understanding of the financial messaging domain and processes as well as the underlying architectural model, applied to real customer value.
  • You demonstrate understanding of IT concepts and have knowledge of the IT landscape and (new) technologies for your domain (including SWIFT, MT and MX messaging) and you have experience in interfacing applications via MQ, TIBCO, XFB among other technologies.
  • You follow the market and know what is going on both inside and outside ING. From your understanding of the latest developments in the Business and Technology, you propose structural improvements aimed at moving your domain, chains, and applications closer to target solutions to offer an industry-leading customer experience.

    As an IT Dev Engineer you will also need:
  • Bachelor's or Master’s degree or equivalent by experience
  • Experience in the financial messaging (SWIFT MT, MX, FileAct) and knowledge of this domain (end to end)
  • Experience in interfacing applications via MQ, TIBCO, XFB among other technologies, experience in ISO20020
  • Experience in infrastructural implementations
  • Certifications and/or proven proficiency in managing complex IT changes
  • Good written and spoken knowledge of English
  • Strong stakeholder management skills
  • Ability to challenge, influence or convince others through fact-based arguments
  • Self-disciplined, proactive and organized, with ability to identify what needs to be done
  • Track record of working in high performing Agile teams and good understanding of Agile/DevOps practices
