IT Workplace Engineer for managing VDI workplaces around the globe

What you will be doing

Together with your squad you are end-to-end responsible for more than 10.000 remote workplaces in more than 20 countries. Performance, security, innovation and support are key pillars where you focus on. You will continually improve the service based on our employee feedback and new technical standards.

A day in the life

You get to work and you go straight to the stand-up of your VDI Squad. You made lots of progress with the onboarding of Americas on the new VDI solution. Next is having a meeting to identify future growth with our outsourcing partners in India, and compare that with our current capacity on VDI.

Before going to lunch you discuss the performance improvements suggested by Fujitsu after analysing last week performance degradation.

During lunch time you sit outside with your team and enjoy the sun and a nice sandwich. After lunch you test the next version of Wyse Management Suite, which we use to manage the ThinClients running VDI. You help out a business department who needs help in deploying a new package on their VDI pool. And as a last activity for today, you renew the evidence on Patch management as port of our Risk Control framework. A busy but satisfying day.

In this role:

  • As part of an Agile team, you support the product owner towards international stakeholders and can discuss your services with everyone including ING senior management
  • You deliver on your squad’s Quarterly Business Review targets
  • You evaluate NPS measurements and use those to initiate and realize service improvements and enhance customer satisfaction
  • You are responsible for marketing and communications towards ING colleagues and for propagating knowledge about your services
  • You aid in identifying, qualifying and reducing the risks in your services and focus on improving our IT-security control

For Global Workplace Services we are looking for an experienced engineer with knowledge of VDI workplaces based on Citrix technology. We are looking for someone who can deliver and manage a great performing VDI environment for more than 10k users, together with our outsource partners
