Overview

ING Wholesale Banking has been an operating a branch in Labuan, Malaysia since September 27, 1995.  ING Bank N.V., Labuan Branch offers its customer base an integrated financial services offering in foreign currency, consisting of corporate and investment banking, financial markets, syndications, structures and project finance as well as trade services such as bank guarantees and standby letter of credit.

 

Our Labuan branch is searching for a dynamic professional to join and support our wholesale banking sector coverage team currently based in the Kuala Lumpur Marketing office, and be a key player in strengthening our position in the Region and achieving our growth plans.  You  will be instrumental in developing new and existing Malaysian client relationships across ING’s sector base and network with primary responsibility to originate, coordinate, execute and manage services and products  of ING Bank N.V. Labuan Branch whilst cross-selling activities across ING’s sector base and network.  You will be working in close cooperation with Sector teams from the Region and product specialists within the ING Wholesale Banking platform. 


Key Responsibilities
Relationship Management
• Working closely with the Regional Sector banker and supporting Senior Sector Banker/PAM in origination (including marketing pitches), structuring, pricing and negotiating transactions and assist in managing relationships with clients and other sector participants and facilitate cross-sell opportunities in country or across ING network offices;
• Managing the various approval and documentation process including conducting financial, business and market risk analysis, providing model based financial forecasts, negotiating term sheets and executing legal transaction documentation;
• Managing various supporting operational process for smooth execution and implementation of new transactions and services;
• Responsible for collecting client and sector information and analyzing this information together with the product/regional sector teams for solution driven marketing purposes. This includes but not limited to preparation client strategies, account plans and briefing notes;
• Monitor and perform Customer Due Diligence and related compliance/KYC on-boarding or review requirements;
• Monitor client profitability and relevant reporting; and
• Maintain various systems up-to-date, particularly Grid and the CRM system

 

Portfolio Management and Business Development
• Managing credit reviews, waivers, and credit modifications requests for transactions;
• Co-operating with portfolio management and local and sector risk management and other functions within ING Wholesale Banking to safeguard the quality, risk and performance of the assigned Portfolio;
• Preparation of various operational monitoring reports and management information data;
• Assist in providing inputs on country strategies and business development; and
• Assist in identifying critical business issues while ensuring sound and prudent business management in accordance with statutory, regulatory and ING Group governance requirements;


We are looking for (key competencies and qualifications)

• Academic degree such as MBA of Bachelor’s in economics, law, finance or comparable;
• At least 5 years of working experience in sector coverage or structured lending products (including project finance) in corporate and investment banking;
• Ability to work independently to build and develop client relationships, close complex transactions under often challenging times;
• High level of self-motivation and professionalism with ability to multi-task;
• Detail oriented, systematic and strong analytical skills; and
• Excellent communication skills with fluency in spoken and written English
