ING Customer Operations is a supportive and dynamic team delivering innovative financial lending products which are at the forefront of digital banking in Australia.  ING currently operates in the Consumer, Residential and Commercial markets. At ING, our Credit Assessors are honest, prudent and responsible because they play a critical role in our lending businesses. This role will assess credit and loan applications or variations for residential mortgages.

You’ll be in your element in this role if your ideal day includes providing outstanding customer service to ING Customers and Brokers, resolving loan enquiries, appeals or complaints in a timely manner.

What you’ll do

  • Assess PAYG applications and progress to self-employed in residential loan products
  • Review credit and risk assessments for loan/credit applications or variations within an allocated Delegated Lending Authority
  • Specialise in credit/risk analysis, customer segmentation, conveyancing and banking processes
  • Uphold ING policies and procedures (including ING’s underwriting guidelines, compliance and risk) to avoid unacceptable operational risk
  • Apply superb detail and attention to all transactions to consistently meet KPI’s and quality indicators such as ‘Moments of Truth’
  • Operate within the ING service delivery guidelines to ensure that all credit applications are completed within the deadlines as set to meet optimal business outcomes

What we’re looking for?

  • Previously held a Delegated Lending Authority (DLA) of at least $1m in a Residential or Commercial setting or $60k within a Consumer/Retail finance setting (essential criteria)
  • Excellent coordination and communication skills to confidently liaise with internal and external stakeholders 
  • Sound knowledge of lending practices including policy, valuations, mortgage insurance, procedures and banking regulatory requirements
  • Strong mathematical and statistical analysis aptitude
  • 2+ years of recent experience in the finance industry in residential mortgages assessment
  • A passion for strong customer service ethics and is delivery focused
