Your new role and responsibilities

ING is a predominantly European Bank with strong global franchises in Wholesale Banking. Clients are supported through an extensive network in more than 40 countries. We are working in an Agile way to stay ahead in being a financial innovator offering the best possible solutions and services to millions of customers worldwide.

Our Finance Business Advice department is a management accounting department with a strong focus on advice. We act as financial conscience via the role of business partner for all departments within the domestic bank of ING in the Netherlands. Currently we are looking for a financial business partner for the Mortgages domain.  

You will have your own senior business partners whom you are going to provide complex analytics and insights in their financial trends and performance. You will give your respective product domain your independent (strategic) advice on this.

  • Provide financial result presentations, analyses and advice to relevant stakeholders
    • Ensure high quality, first time right deliverables
    • Actively develop relationships with your business partners and act as a trusted advisor by supporting the leads with strategic analysis to steer the business
    • Proactively look for ways to improve the content and format, keeping it relevant in the current fast-changing environment
  • Be involved in the overall budgeting and forecasting process
    • Be responsible for providing accurate forward looking financial plans
    • Play a strong role in challenging and aligning with stakeholders on financial developments
    • Analyze actuals and derive action points
  • Play an active role in the FBA department
    • Work on overarching projects which cover the full bank (e.g. cost allocation)
    • Actively work and think along in the team to look for possible efficiencies in our processes and to improve business relevant insights

How to succeed

Furthermore, you have/are:

  • A financial Master degree

  • 4-5 years of experience in a financial advice position is a must

  • Experience in translating complex data into sound advice

  • Experience in giving independent strategic advice to senior management

  • Experience in Treasury, Market Risk Management, Balance Sheet Management or Fund Transfer Pricing / Replicating Portfolios is a plus

  • Advanced excel and powerpoint skills

  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) in English, Dutch is a strong benefit

  • You are analytical, client driven and proactive by nature

  • Innovative striving to continuous improvement

  • A sincere interest in banking and a curious attitude in market developments
