Vacancy concerns a Product Finance IV position with the Structured Export Finance team based in Amsterdam. Position concerns working in the front office within a team of 15 dedicated professionals, where you will be originating, structuring and executing medium to long term export finance transactions as well as developing and growing certain export finance markets as an integral part of various deal teams. The position involves contact with clients, prospects, export credit agencies, banks, technical and legal advisors as well as cooperation with internal functions such as Credit Risk Management, Legal, Compliance, Operations, and Sector teams. It may also involve leading certain (regulatory or other relevant) projects.
Organizational context:
Structured Export Finance is part of Lending within ING Wholesale Banking. The SEF global network consists of units located in Amsterdam, Brussels, Paris, Frankfurt, New York, Singapore, Beijing, Seoul and Tokyo with a total staff of approximately 50 professionals. The SEF Amsterdam team is responsible for the Dutch, UK and Nordic (Finland, Sweden, Denmark, Norway) export markets as well as the Africa import market.
Responsibilities:
As Vice President your key responsibilities will include:
Develop and maintain client relationships with (i) exporters of capital goods and related services (ii) importers/borrowers in emerging markets (iii) Export Credit Agencies (ECAs) in the exporting countries in order to mitigate the political and commercial risks involved in export financings and (iv) semi-governmental agencies engaged in trade promotion
Prospect / pursue new transaction opportunities via contacts with internal and external stakeholders and networks. Support the planning of marketing activities in the export markets you are active in
Support and / or lead the structuring and execution of transactions including commercial and credit risk discussions and documentation negotiations, and ensure that all internal processes are correctly followed
Manage/monitor relevant part of the existing portfolio transactions, support / lead the process for waiver requests and contribute to annual credit reviews
Participate in external events and associations
Lead or participate in relevant projects
Coach junior colleagues in the team
Qualification Requirements:
Committed and commercially minded professional with attention to detail and ability to work in a structured way
8+ years of relevant work experience in export/ project finance or in another relevant area
University degree in e.g. finance, engineering or law
Self-critical with demonstrated ability to perform under tight deadlines
Ability to swiftly identify the key issues (including legal/technical aspects) in transaction structures
Strong verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills
Fluency in English (verbal and in writing) is a must; another language is a plus
