Strategic Equity Transactions Sales EMEA (Analyst/Associate/VP depending on experience)

Permanent Contract, Full-time, Brussels

 

Your role & work environment

The Strategic Equity Transactions (SET) Desk is looking for a new Salesperson to join ING Financial Markets (FM) in Brussels in order to participate to the coverage of the EMEA market.

This position consists in supporting our institutional, corporate clients, holdings and family offices with their needs related to listed equity exposures as well as spotting new opportunities. Solutions range from linear and optional equity derivatives solutions to hedge equity risks, realize stake building and yield enhancement as well as share buyback solutions and equity based financing.

You will work closely together with the Equity Derivatives Trading teams, FM Legal and other regional Sales teams with a focus on the European time zone, in order to serve ING Corporate & FI clients or prospects. You will also often interact with relationship managers, lending and credit risk team as a product ambassador.

Your key responsibilities

As an SET Sales, you will be responsible for:

  • Pitching, preparing and executing strategic corporate and institutional transactions
  • Coordinating sales, support and trading teams within an efficient deal team
  • Building and maintaining client relationships (visits, calls, chats & market, products and regulatory discussions)
  • Travelling and acting as a product specialist for local Sales and relationship managers located in the different ING sales hubs
  • Taking care of recurrent derivatives flow business (RFQ, trading, post-trade follow-up)
  • Participate to the development and organization of the desk

As an SET Sales you will also need the following qualifications and competences:

  • A university degree in business economics/finance, and/or CFA or equivalent academic background;
  • A high interest in equity markets
  • An experience in Strategic Equity 0-5 years
  • Genuine team player;
  • Perfect command of English; being fluent in French and/or Dutch is considered a plus
  • Mix of commercial and analytical skills;
  • Strong presentation skills (making PowerPoint pitches, presenting);
  • Ability to work on various transactions/projects at the same time, often under pressure, and to prioritize resources accordingly;
  • Entrepreneurial, hands on and can do attitude ;
  • Eager to learn and to share knowledge with colleagues.
