A day in the life of a Technical Ops Lead 

●       50% of your time will be devoted to empowering, coaching, and motivating your chapter of 6 to 10 engineers. Your responsibilities in that part will include making sure that craftmanship and engineering capacity is matching the demands put forward by business, both Front Office and Risk Management.

○        Motivate and support the growth of all chapter members using equitable approaches to performance management and development that may be differentiated to support each employee's unique needs and preferences in order to bring out their best and meet business needs.

○       Communicate actions needed to implement the function's strategy within your chapter; explain the relationship to the broader organization's mission, vision and values; motivate people to commit to these and to doing extraordinary things to achieve business goals

●       The remaining 50% of your time will be spent as IT Operations engineer yourself. You will have to work on individual stories, for example, onboarding new users and locations, monitoring and alerting, change management, application  lifecycle management. Incident Management, including Root Cause Analysis for high priority incidents are also part of responsibility.

○       Monitor, identify, and correct more complex software defects to maintain fully functioning applications software. (including participation in stand-by rotation)

○       Builds partnerships and works collaboratively with others to meet shared objectives. Encourages people to share their honest views, responds in a non-defensive way when they do.

●       Strong technical skills:

○       Windows Server

○       Active Directory and at least basic understanding of authentication and authorization models in Windows context

○       SQL / MS SQL Server 2016+

○       Scripting (preferably Powershell or Python)

○       Experience with Azure DevOps (creation of build and deployment pipelines, backlog management)

○       Experience with Docker and Kubernetes is a plus

○       Understanding of main ITIL processes (Change Management, Capacity Management, Incident Management etc.)

●       Strong social skills

●       You have experience with leading teams/Engineers and managing complex application landscape in an enterprise setting

●       Knowledge of, working background or just an interest in Financial Markets is very welcome

●       You are a strong team player; you love to share knowledge and you are interested in other people’s work

●       You are enthusiastic about working in an Agile setup, and don't mind taking initiative in case requirements are not extremely clear or need further refinement

●       Prepared to participate in on-call / standby rotations (approximately 1 week per two months) and work outside of business hours whenever an activity that cannot be carried out during the business hours calls for it

You will work closely with your IT Area Lead and other Chapter Leads in the Area and product owners to ensure that platform and applications using it are stable, and engineers are always ahead of the curve.

As Technical Ops Lead, you will play a crucial role leading Ops engineers, located in Brussel and Bucharest, of two business-critical applications: FlexING and MAPP.
