We started out in 2015 as ING’s software development hub – a distinct entity from ING Bank Romania – then steadily expanded our range to include more services and competencies.
Formerly known as ING Tech, as of 2022 we provide borderless services with bank-wide capabilities under the name of ING Hubs Romania and operate from two locations: Bucharest and Cluj.
With the help of 1400 engineers, risk and operations professionals, we offer 150 services in tech, non-financial risk & compliance, audit and retail operations to 24 ING units worldwide.
Our tech capabilities remain the core of our business, with more than 1100 colleagues active in Data Management, TouchPoint Channels & Integration and Core Banking.

The Mission:
Several strategic projects are initiated or in process to be started in ING Hubs Romania. A solid basis is vital for the success of each of these projects.
This basis is set by a group of key technical people, highly skilled in their area of expertise and knowledgeable of the ING procedures and standards.
Hence, we are aiming to grow a team of highly skilled engineers with a clear purpose of helping in setting the grounds of the new projects.
This role will encompass a wide range of responsibilities throughout the software development lifecycle. You will be involved in various tasks, including programming, debugging, architecture design, build engineering, release engineering, documentation, workflow automation, and providing support to the team. It's important to note that you may frequently transition between different projects, requiring you to be adaptable and familiarize yourself with various technology stacks.

You have practical experience with Continuous Delivery methodologies.
What you bring to the team:
A university degree in Computer Science, Cybernetics, Software Engineering, Financial Engineering, or an equivalent field.
5+ years of hands-on development experience using a JVM-based language.
Proficiency in working with microservice architectures.
Experience in building and deploying containerized services.
Strong understanding of IT Security concepts.
Familiarity with Test-Driven Development (TDD) and Behavior-Driven Development (BDD) methodologies.
Excellent communication skills in both English and Romanian.
Strong analytical skills, proactive attitude, and a willingness to share knowledge with others.
Nice to have:
Experience working with Kotlin and/or Scala programming languages.
Familiarity with functional programming concepts.
Knowledge of front-end frameworks such as React, Vue, or Angular.
