ING is looking for a Risk Reporting Control Specialist to strengthen the ICAAP Analytics team within Integrated Risk. We are looking for an enthusiastic colleague who gets energy from enhancing the Pillar III control framework to mitigate regulatory reporting risks for ING Group and ING Bank. ICAAP Analytics is a staff department that coordinates various integrated risk topics like:
Disclosures: Coordination of internal risk reporting towards the Management Board and Supervisory Board and external disclosures in e.g. the Annual Report and towards investors and ratings agencies.
Risk Appetite: Coordination of the group-wide Risk Appetite Framework, including solvency/capital risk appetite, allocation to risk types and preparing the annual risk appetite to the Management Board Banking and Supervisory Board.
Risk Identification & Risk Assessment: Coordination of the group-wide Risk Identification and Risk Assessment process, including maintenance of ING Group’s risk taxonomy and the annual materiality assessment using a global risk survey.
Stress testing: Covering internal and external (EBA) ICAAP/Capital Stress Testing as well as Climate Risk Stress Testing.
Economic Capital: Overseeing the implementation of the new Economic Capital Framework and supporting further usage in both risk management and steering.
ICAAP: Acting as second line of defense with respect to ICAAP and thereby working closely together with Group Treasury.
New regulations: Assess the impact of new regulations like Basel IV
The team
ICAAP Analytics is an international team consisting of 20 highly qualified professionals with an open and informal atmosphere, located in Amsterdam. Our team is coordinating internal risk reporting to the MBB and SB as well as external disclosures such as via the quarterly Press Release, the Annual Report and Pillar III. In this role, ICAAP Analytics also closely collaborates with Group Finance and Investor Relations to provide the relevant risk information and messaging for the outside world. An increasingly important element in this respect are disclosures on ESG risks for which over the coming years various regulatory requirements need to be implemented.
Roles and responsibilities
As a Risk Reporting Control Specialist, you will operate as a trusted business partner and hands-on consultant that advises and supports our management on the design of the Pillar III control frameworks. You are responsible for maintaining its effectiveness in identifying and reducing regulatory reporting risks as well as increasing control awareness. You also support ING locations during the implementation and responding to the related (ad-hoc) questions from our (external/internal) auditors. In addition, you will closely monitor progress on timely execution of controls, and remediation of control defects.
You are strongly result-oriented professional who continuously looks for ways to drive change/improve and deliver high quality. You have relevant knowledge and experience and dare to speak out. You are independent but also able to work in teams.
Your most important tasks will include:
Develop, update and maintain the Pillar III documentations (such as yearly update of the controls framework (incl test plans) and reporting protocols);
Coordinate and actively participate in the sign-off process; including:
Involvement in the local sign-off of countries and Business Lines and Corporate Departments
Monitoring of the testing of the local Pillar III controls framework
Help entities with the implementation of Pillar III Process Control Standard in line with the guidance to ensure a sound control environment, resulting from;
New regulatory standards (e.g. recent changes include CRR3 and CSRD)
New locations added and need to apply the Pillar III controls for the first time
Identified deficiencies throughout the organization, indication for attention areas where guidance needs to be improved or training should be given
Lead deep dives into finance control and regulatory matters;
Seek opportunities for control optimization and ways to reduce the finance control burden on the business. Align with other control frameworks as a contributor/advisor to the Enterprise Risk Management environment.
Coordinate the Pillar III sign-off process for ICAAP Analytics, which includes organizing, preparing and providing support to the RCSAs, walkthroughs, ToDs and ToEs.
Develop training materials and providing trainings and workshops to local finance control officers.
How to succeed
Academic level, preferably in Accounting, Finance, (Business) Economics or a similar education; auditors degree or CIA certificate is a plus;
Up to 5 years of relevant work experience with focus on the financial industry;
Proven experience in complex business process improvements, including design, implementation and execution of (regulatory) oversight processes;
Strong knowledge of financial/regulatory reporting risk mitigating practices;
Ability to work well with demanding senior stakeholders, both internally and externally;
Excellent organisation sensitivity, communication and collaboration skills;
Fluent in English (both written and verbal).
