ING is looking for a passionate Senior Frontend Engineer to help us build a large Micro-frontend in line with ING Global Assisted Platform.

Working for the Global Assisted Platforms Area means working in a dynamic environment. From UX designer to IT engineer, we all work towards the same goal. Did you know that currently almost all ING retail countries are using our platforms and we’re still onboarding new user groups and countries? To make this possible, we are developing a big micro-frontend in which we collaborate with teams in other countries to compose one of the largest platform applications of the ING.

The Team

To be more specific, the Global Assisted Platform is split into multiple platform – and feature teams, located in different countries, and consisting of different disciplines: Web, Testing and Pipeline Automation. Hierarchically, we are within the Global Assisted Platform area and our main challenge now is to develop a large micro-frontend in line with ING Banking Technology Platform using web component as standards. To release such a large application, we need to release with confidence using automated pipelines and testing frameworks. As engineers, we love to collaborate. We value high quality code, we are flexible, high performant and we love to continuously improve whatever we do.

• 6+ years’ experience in development/software engineering and working within agile organizations.
• Experience with the NodeJS ecosystem and enjoy keeping up to date with the latest JavaScript releases and features.
• Familiarity with web components meta-specification.
• You prefer lightweight web components over heavy frameworks.
• Experience with build - and release pipelines.
• Experience building Testing Frameworks.
• You prefer automation above repeating yourself.
• Desirable Design Patterns: DevOps Concepts, Single Page Applications and Micro-frontend Architectures
• Strong technical communication skills and keen to engage with customers.
• Excellent English verbal and written communication skills.
