The opportunity

As Business Development Expert for the value space Safe & Compliant you will accelerate the pace of innovation at ING. You will help establish and grow partnerships with FinTech companies, ING Ventures investments and new ING Labs initiatives. Together with Value Space Lead for Safe & Compliant you are responsible to create value by connecting these initiatives with the core bank to ensure that revenue growth or cost savings are realized upon implementation. You will work closely with the FinTech Partnerships team, ING Ventures and ING Labs.

The team

ING Neo is a business area dedicated to increase execution speed and the impact of innovation initiatives in ING. These innovations may be implemented through partnerships with FinTech’s, new initiatives in ING Labs, or investments in third party FinTech’s through ING Ventures. Safe & Compliant is one of the five innovation focus areas (called “Value Spaces”) within ING Neo. The Safe & Compliant Value Space focusses on Risk & KYC innovation supporting global business units across Retail Banking, Business Banking and Wholesale Banking.

Roles and responsibilities

As Business Development Expert for the Value Space Safe & Compliant you will:

  • Support the Value Space Lead Safe & Compliant in managing, overseeing and growing a portfolio of ING Assets & innovation initiatives that focus on the value space priorities, KYC, Risk & Emerging Themes
  • Support ING Lab initiatives in creating value for ING, measure revenue growth or cost savings that are realised upon implementation.
  • Track and analyse outside trends that relate to Safe & Compliant innovation and present updates to internal stakeholders
  • Explore opportunities to establish new innovation projects and keep track of talent with Risk expertise that may support new initiatives
  • Work with the partnership team to scout and connect new FinTech/Regtech companies
  • Establish and manage an internal network of ambassadors that help to accelerate the pace of innovation across our organisation: Retail, business banking and wholesale banking
  • Explore and track ways that data and technology can help ING to improve operational excellence and enhance compliance.

  • You are energetic, curious and eager to learn quickly, have a can-do mentality.
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical and conceptual thinking skills,
  • Ample experience with preparing board-level presentations and discussion materials;
  • You have strong communication and interpersonal skills and ample experience with project management.
  • You preferably have experience within KYC and Risk Technology
  • You preferably have a background in FinTech, Strategy or consultancy;
  • You have an excellent academic track record and at least 5 years of relevant work experience.
  • Outstanding Orange Code behaviours are key to success in this role (“Helping others to be successful - Always think a step ahead - Take it on and make it happen”)
  • Highly fluent in English.
