Discover ING Hubs Romania

We started out in 2015 as ING’s software development hub – a distinct entity in relation to ING Bank Romania – then steadily expanded our range to include more services and competencies. Formerly known as ING Tech, as of 2022 we provide borderless services with bank-wide capabilities under the name of ING Hubs Romania and operate from two locations: Bucharest and Cluj.

ING Hubs Romania offers 150 services in software development, data management, non-financial risk & compliance, audit, and retail operations to 24 ING units worldwide, with the help of 1400 engineers, risk, and operations professionals.

We enjoy a flexible way of working and a highly collaborative environment, where fair and constructive feedback is encouraged. Work ethics, honesty and knowledge sharing are key to our teams and we’re always looking for like-minded people.

The Mission

Wero Core Services supporting the wero digital payment wallet proposition of ING is a product managed internally by a Service Owner/ Product Lead, leading the vision, strategy, and priorities, therefore you will act as a Proxy Product Owner for the one or two squads, by being responsible for delivering and innovating the Wero features for Payment and Settlement Services (“PSS”) area.

These services will be used in native (android and iOS) applications and assisted channels of ING, facilitating digital payments via the wero wallet for millions of ING customers.

You will work with multi-disciplinary squads, product owners, architects, designers, and developers.

Within the one or two teams (fully located in Bucharest), you will act as a Proxy Product Owner, taking responsibility for backlog management, for sprint-by-sprint priorities (derived from the product ones managed together with the Service Owner/ Product Lead), for requirements clarifications, as well as their development within the sprint.

External to the teams, you will be the go-to person for a different range of stakeholders, and you will closely work with the Service Owner/ Product Lead for new requirements coming from one or multiple customers, as they must fit in the global product strategy.
This will require you to establish and maintain a close relationship not only with the Service Owner, the Product Lead and the Product Area Lead, but also with consumers, risk and security specialists, and other stakeholders.

Your day to day

Even if you start your day from the comfort of your home or drink your morning coffee in our office’s garden, your day will be quite similar when it comes to tasks.

Here are your daily responsibilities:

  • Play an active role in identifying, mitigating, and communicating impediments impacting successful completion of Release/Sprint Goals;

  • When the product will become mature:
  • Enable consumers to have a great onboarding experience, get the value from our product, and minimize roadblocks. Guide them through features and functionalities from the start until the journey is successfully completed;
