Bring your whole self to work

Bring your whole self to work

At ING, having a diverse and inclusive culture isn’t just the right thing to do. It’s essential for delivering on our strategy and reflecting the communities we serve.
Contrasting perspectives and backgrounds help us be more creative, faster in adapting and more innovative in designing products and solutions for our customers.
That’s why we’re proud to say, your whole self is welcome here. And that’s a promise.

Here are a few examples of this in action.

Equal parental leave

We recognise that in today’s modern family the concepts of “primary and “secondary” carer are old fashioned. That’s why we ditched these terms and allow all new parents access to 20 weeks paid parental leave, with no eligibility period. We know everyone’s different, so we give the option to take this leave flexibly to suit your family’s needs.

Flexible working

FlexING is our approach to flexible working. Whether it’s working from home, or varying start and finish times to play sport, pick up the kids, skip peak hour traffic or study. Whatever the reason, we empower our people to manage their work so they don’t miss all the moments that matter.

Our Network Groups

Lioness

Lioness aims to connect and empower the ING community to build and champion a more gender equal society by creating awareness and understanding of gender equality issues. Together we’re committed to creating change through education, awareness, events and influencing policy and processes.

Our Lioness mentoring program promotes personal and professional development and equips members with tangible tools to support their career aspirations.

Rainbow Lions

Rainbow Lions exists so that LGBTQ+ employees at ING Australia feel included, respected and valued. The network is open to everyone, whether you identify as LGBTQ+ or not.

Rainbow Lions champions inclusion through education and awareness, facilitating social and networking opportunities, and implementing policy and practice changes at ING. The network is active in the LGBTQ+ community, acknowledging and celebrating days such as the International Day Against Homophobia, Biphobia, Interphobia & Transphobia (IDAHOBIT) and Wear it Purple Day.

Cubs and Carers Community

The community is focused on improving the experience for parents and carers at ING, so they can thrive at work and at home. This is achieved by actively listening and encouraging engagement amongst the community, guiding and informing our people in terms of the help and resources available, and advocating for change to embed family friendly policies and practices into our culture.

Mosaic Community

Celebrating our many cultures, differences and unique perspectives is what makes ING special. Mosaic is an employee-led community focused on events, initiatives and opportunities to learn more about our cultural diversity of team members, so that everyone at ING feels welcome, safe and connected.
