We are looking for a passionate and experienced Health Safety Wellbeing (HSW) Manager to join our Human Resources team.

You’ll be responsible for managing the HSW function including workers compensation, injury management, wellbeing, and safety.  This includes safety governance with reporting to the Board and Executives and maintaining the organisation's HSW Management Framework, to ensure we continue to provide a healthy, safe and wellbeing focused environment for our people, contractors and visitors.  You’ll have a particular focus on how we effectively manage psychosocial risk and enhance awareness and capability across our leader cohort.

As the internal HSW subject matter expert you’ll promote, advise and coach people at all levels of the organisation with regards to HSW legislative requirements and to ensure best practice HSW policies and procedures are embedded in day-to-day operations and our hybrid working model.

What you’ll do 

  • Manage the HSW function including workers compensation, injury management, wellbeing and safety
  • Maintain and evolve our HSW Framework, Strategy, Communications and Training and ensure safety governance  
  • Embed HSW capability and knowledge across the organisation
  • Implement targeted training programs for our Leaders
  • Monitor HSW performance against internal and external benchmarks, including compliance with external regulations and standards and internal policy and procedures
  • Conduct reviews of risks and controls against a standard risk management framework
  • Identify and implement process improvements and system upgrades to meet the needs of efficiency, risk management and a quality employee experience  
  • Manage a small team and provide mentoring, coaching and ongoing development opportunities

What we’re looking for 

  • Health and Safety technical expertise and leadership from a corporate environment (from within Financial Services and experience supporting leaders in a contact centre environment is highly desirable)
  • Experience in dealing with regulators and expertise to manage incidents and  investigations  
  • Good understanding of workers compensation and injury management, including optimising processes, partnering with insurers and suppliers and reporting
  • The ability to build strong working relationships with leadership teams to help them to proactively manage hazards and risks
  • The ability to listen, clearly articulate ideas and data driven viewpoints to effectively influence decision making at all levels of the organisation
  • Strong accountability and “can do attitude”; someone who is outcome and process improvement focused who can manage tight deadlines in a fast-paced working environment
  • The ability to work effectively as part of the team and contribute constructively with a flexible approach and quality decision making
