First Line of Defense
First Line of Defence (FLOD) is a developing department made up of a small team of 4 people.
FLOD serves as an intermediary between the bank’s commercial (Retail Banking, Private Banking, Wholesale Banking, etc.) and monitoring services.
Activities
FLOD’s main concern is aiding in the implementation of different regulations affecting ING Luxembourg The team also supplies information and support to all parties concerned in order to take the necessary steps to follow these regulations.
Furthermore, FLOD serves a monitoring function so as to be able to predict and limit the bank’s risks (financial , or otherwise). With the data collected during monitoring, FLOD can make decisions to optimise processes already in place, or find new solutions entirely.
