Do you get excited about running a broad range of high-impact process-related assignments for ING’s global (senior) management? Are you open to increasing your skills, knowledge and process improvement expertise from the first moment you step into our doors? Are you available full-time for a period of 4-6 months? Then read on!

Who are we?
As a process improvement consultant intern, you will become part of the Global Process Management (GPM) team. GPM brings value by enabling easy, uniform, and digital processes throughout the bank. We do so by setting global standards and designs, executing, and implementing process improvements and by increasing process craftmanship across ING. We are an international team of 40 people coming from different backgrounds, who are driven to make impact for ING. The team is divided in 5 sub-teams of which 4 are located in Amsterdam. The internship is for one of the Amsterdam based teams.

What would you do during the internship?
There are many different possibilities for an internship at GPM, whereby achieving concrete results is always paramount. For example, you can think of a study in which you make (or apply) a model to demonstrate connections or causes in a large data set. But other internships around the design and implementation of solutions are also possible. We always try to help you find a topic that meets the requirements of your university.

Some examples of previous internships that benefit ING's more than 8 million customers every day:

  • Scheduling optimization in ING mailing center whereby the processing time of postal items has been reduced by 5 days;

  • Research to optimize customer selection criteria, resulting in a conversion increase of 22% from client meeting to products or services sold. Gamification project in which teams gained insight into the progress on their daily goal, resulting in higher employee satisfaction and 15% more efficiency.

Sounds good: what's in it for me?

Because we are always working on how things can be improved, we find it very important to continue to develop ourselves on a personal level as well. That is why there is a broad program of internal training courses to increase your knowledge and skills. In fact, development is everywhere: on our weekly team day for example, we share the lessons learned from projects that have been finished. In addition to the great projects we do, we also organize many social activities together, such as team drinks and events. Of course we also provide a good internship compensation.

Who are we looking for?

You have strong analytical skills and numerical insight to apply the right structure to problems, perform analyzes and select the right root causes and solutions. You combine this with good social skills. In addition, you recognize yourself in the following profile:

  • You have obtained your university bachelor's degree and you will graduate for your master's degree on a Dutch university within one year;

  • You want to do a (graduation) internship for 4 to 6 months (full time);

  • You really want to make impact and give your all;

  • You have an excellent command of the English language (Dutch is a pré)

  • Knowledge of Lean Six Sigma and the financial sector is not required.

Interested and excited?!

Apply now! We would like to receive your CV and motivation letter in one document. In addition to your motivation for the internship and ING, we would also like to read in your letter which topics you find interesting and which methods from your study you would like to apply during your internship. This allows us to see if there is a match between your ambitions and the projects that we do! We only accept applications with a CV and motivation letter.
