The Mission

ActivePivot is an in-memory analytical platform allowing users to slice and dice, aggregate and join the data from various sources. The DevOps role requires gaining knowledge across the whole stack (like operating systems, disk management, databases, networking, performance, web site, load balancing, security, backups, disaster recovery and configuration management) while also being involved in day-to-day activities of the squad.

Your day to day

Even if you’ll start your day from the comfort of your home or drink your morning coffee in our office’s garden, your day will be quite similar when comes to tasks. Here are your daily responsibilities:

  • Automating, deploying and running a production system following DTAP development process;

  • Develop CI/CD pipelines for building, testing and deploying application;

  • Specifying, designing and analyzing performance and acceptance tests (including high availability and disaster recovery);

  • Configuring and implementing monitoring and alerting tools;

  • Performing Problem and Change Management, including writing and refining user stories for resolving problems;

  • Investigate, analyze and document production incidents, according to SLA agreement and urgency;

  • Closely collaborate with developers to ensure that the application is functioning as expected;

  • Implementing ING security controls based on auditor’s recommendations;

  • Share freely your ideas, suggestions or feedback for improvements to the team.

What you’ll bring to the team

  • At least 2 years relevant experience in supporting IT applications or systems;

  • Knowledge of software development lifecycles or proven experience in a software development environment;

  • Experience with production operational processes;

  • Excellent team player, eager to learn;

  • Creative and solution-focused;

  • Passionate about new technologies, and every technical problem represents a challenge you are eager to take;

  • Service-minded attitude, flexibility and inquisitiveness;

  • Comfortable to communicate and liaise with business users;

  • Tech stack/ knowledge:Mandatory:

    • Good knowledge of Linux OS (RedHat 8/9).

    • Good knowledge with scripting languages (Bash, Python).

    • Good knowledge of Configuration Management tools (Ansible, Puppet).

    • Good knowledge of ITIL practices and Agile processes.

    • Experience working with Private/Public Cloud offering (IaaS, SaaS).

    • Basic understanding of networking technologies and standards (DNS, TLS, load balancing, firewalls, etc.).

    • Comfortable to communicate and liaise with business users.

    Nice to have:

    • Experience working with DevOps tools and technologies (Azure DevOps, Gitlab, Jenkins, TeamCity).

    • Experience with monitoring and alerting tools (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack).

    • Knowledge in administrating web servers (Apache, NGINX)

  • Foreign languages: English (advanced);

  • Education: nice to have Bachelor’s Degree (or higher) in an IT related field.
