We started out in 2015 as ING’s software development hub – a distinct entity from ING Bank Romania – then steadily expanded our range to include more services and competencies.

Formerly known as ING Tech, as of 2022 we provide borderless services with bank-wide capabilities under the name of ING Hubs Romania and operate from two locations: Bucharest and Cluj-Napoca.

With the help of over 1600 engineers, risk, and operations professionals, we offer 130 services in tech, non-financial risk & compliance, audit and retail operations to 24 ING units worldwide.

Our tech capabilities remain the core of our business, with more than 1300 colleagues active in Data Management, TouchPoint Channels & Integration, Core Banking, and Global Products.

The Mission

PHS (Proximity Hosting Solution) is ING link with our external Datacenter provider in Frankfurt. PHS coordinates and ensures ING security, automation and administration standards are implemented and helps capabilities teams to have a secure and reliable platform on which to run the applications.

Your day to day

Even if you’ll start your day from the comfort of your home or drink your morning coffee in our office’s garden, your day will be quite similar when comes to tasks. Here are your daily responsibilities:

• External datacenter resource administration;

• Develop CI/CD pipelines for administering and configuring infrastructure;

• Specifying, designing and analyzing performance and acceptance tests (including high availability and disaster recovery);

• Configuring and implementing monitoring and alerting tools;

• Performing Problem and Change Management, including writing and refining user stories for resolving problems;

• Investigate, analyze and document production incidents, according to SLA agreement and urgency;

• Implementing ING security controls based on auditor’s recommendations;

• Share freely your ideas, suggestions or feedback for improvements to the team.

What you’ll bring to the team

• At least 1-year relevant experience in supporting IT applications or systems;

• Experience with production operational processes;

• Excellent team player, eager to learn;

• Creative and solution-focused;

• Passionate about new technologies, and every technical problem represents a challenge you are eager to take;

• Service-minded attitude, flexibility and inquisitiveness;

• Comfortable to communicate and liaise with business users;

• Tech stack/ knowledge:Mandatory:

  • Good knowledge of Linux OS (RedHat 8/9).

  • Basic knowledge with scripting languages (Bash, Python).

  • Basic knowledge of Configuration Management tools (Ansible, Puppet).

  • Basic knowledge of ITIL practices and Agile processes.

  • Basic understanding of networking technologies and standards (DNS, TLS, load balancing, firewalls, etc.).

  • Comfortable to communicate and liaise with business users.

  Nice to have:

  • Experience working with DevOps tools and technologies (Azure DevOps, Gitlab, Jenkins, TeamCity).

  • Experience with monitoring and alerting tools (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack).

• Foreign languages: English (advanced);

• Education: nice to have bachelor’s degree (or higher) in an IT related field.
