Your Tasks

  • As a Senior Engineer you have a leading role in the management, creation, design and implementation of cloud and data infrastructures.
  • Specifically, this entails your responsibility for the seamless integration of new data sources into Snowflake, ensuring the reliability and efficiency of our data imports, as well as managing and optimizing our existing data sources.
  • You take charge of efficient data processing and your expertise is essential in maintaining and optimizing the Kubernetes cluster supporting Kafka and Airflow, utilizing tools like Terraform and Helm.
  • Leveraging your proficiency in Python, you create and update Directed Acyclic Graphs (DAGs) in Airflow. Additionally, you lead the updating of processing logic, particularly for streaming Change Data Capture, ensuring our data processing remains cutting-edge.
  • Your responsibilities extend to managing the Kafka cluster that the streaming data runs through, maintaining its reliability, scalability, and optimal performance.
  • Support an upcoming infrastructure migration project (cloud-to-cloud) involving possible tech stack changes while ensuring that we continue delivering our team SLAs
  • Last but not least, you oversee and enhance our CI/CD pipelines in Azure DevOps, playing a critical role in the continuous improvement and efficient deployment of our data infrastructure.

Your Profile

  • Several years of experience in building, maintaining and monitoring data pipelines
  • Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field is a plus
  • Proficient in at least one programming language, such as Python, and SQL
  • Solid understanding of Kubernetes and related cloud infrastructure
  • Proactive approach to seeking improvements in services/code managed by the team and team processes
  • Experience planning and executing cloud migrations is a plus (defining requirements, aligning with stakeholders, promote an optimal setup that fulfills the needs of our stakeholders)
  • You are familiar with data governance topics and take infrastructure security seriously
  • Ideally, experience with distributed systems like Kafka, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), and CI/CD pipelines as well as familiarity with Airflow and Snowflake
  • Curious and eager to learn
  • German and English language skills, both written and spoken
