Team Leader, Reconciliations

The Opportunity
We are currently looking for a new Team Leader in our Payment Operations Team. As a team leader, you will manage workflow to achieve service levels to the agreed quality standards whilst ensuring internal and external customer satisfaction.

You will be responsible in developing and maintaining a high performance team within a dynamic and fast paced environment. Furthermore, you will provide leadership, coaching and support to your team members and act as an escalation point for any issues that arises.

You will cover the following operational areas:

  • Reconciliation of all payment processing including NPP, BPAY, CS2, scheme
  • Clearance of all exception reconciliation items within an agreed SLA
  • Processing customer initiated exceptions including mistaken Internet payments, special answers and traces, BPay enquiries
  • Team sponsor for the design, build and implementation of a new reconciliation tool
You will have a strong desire to evolve the Reconciliations team and align it’s objectives with ING’s 2020 vision. That is, providing our customers with the most effective solutions to help them best manage their financial futures, while creating long lasting value for all stakeholders.

  • Manage team workflow for reconciliation ageing items through allocation of appropriate resources 
  • Assist in preparing resourcing forecasts for team ensuring that they have an appropriate level of resources on board to manage the increasing volumes
  • Produce management reporting and distribute to key stakeholders
  • Encourage generation of ideas for improvement within the team
  • Prepare business accepted risk proposals where appropriate 
About You
  • 5+ years experience in reconciliation processing in the retail banking environment
  • Demonstrates expertise and exposure to operational risk control environment
  • Experience in working with retail banking products (mortgages, transactional, cards, unsecured lending)
  • Experience in working with general ledgers and accounting processes
  • Ability to build relationships at all levels
