Operations & Change

Delivering ING’s Think Forward strategy

Trainees on the Operations & Change track have a crucial role in initiating and implementing changes that will contribute to ING’s future. You’ll use your analytical skills to tackle strategic business challenges and your creativity to design and implement tools and methods that deliver improved results. Successfully executing your vision puts you at the forefront of delivering on ING’s strategy.

A changing bank in response to changing needs

Digitalisation, technology, product innovation and new ways of working are rapidly changing the financial sector. At the same time, more and more newcomers are entering the domain of traditional banks, regulations are increasing and customer needs are changing. To stay a step ahead, we have to be disruptive and initiate complex changes to build a future-proof ING.

For this we need talented people like you. People with a ‘get-it-done’ attitude who can design and implement a new organisational structure and efficient processes that deliver improved results.

As an Operations & Change trainee you’ll be co-piloting the bank. You’ll help to steer seamless operations, lead breakthrough process improvements, create strong and collaborative change communities, contribute to various strategic initiatives and help the business to effectively manage risk and meet regulatory obligations.

The agile approach

Just like many of the big tech companies, ING work’s ‘agile’. We’re one of the first banks to do so. This means you’ll work in teams of specialists from multiple disciplines who are jointly responsible for one project from start to finish. Working this way means we can implement improvements much faster, share best practices and tools, and deliver on our strategy.

Countless challenges to tackle

As an Operations & Change trainee you’ll be introduced to our process management methodologies and our agile way of working in a squad, local change team or a Customer Loyalty team. You’ll have plenty of opportunities to tackle transformation-related challenges in the Netherlands or abroad, including in change programmes to standardise the way we interact with customers on a single digital platform. Not to mention a variety of projects that you can sink your teeth into to improve global processes in areas such as risk, modularisation, disruptive technologies, data management, supply chain management, cybersecurity and robotics.
