About ING Trade and Commodity Finance (“TCF”):

ING is the #1 TCF bank in the world with teams serving clients from six dedicated commodity finance locations globally. The TCF team is a corporate lending function dedicated to serving clients in the physical commodity trading industry.

ING Americas TCF Team was established in April 2015 for the purpose of serving existing global clients -and growing its presence with domestic clients- in the North American market.  The team remains in growth mode and is looking to expand its HOU and NY presence.

The Houston TCF team is comprised of a mix of TCF industry veterans as well as former Houston based Corporate Energy Bankers (RBL & Midstream). Clients served are primarily energy focused physical commodity traders.

Main Duties and Responsibilities of Role:

  • Assist deal teams in the origination, structuring and execution of new commodity finance transactions across the full spectrum of commodities including energy, metals and softs
  • Assume key role in handling internal system processing (Vantage) including Grid, FINAN, TSC, Risk Rater and KYC/CDD data gathering and processing
  • Assist deal team in managing and monitoring an existing portfolio of lending exposures
  • Assist in execution of TCF US payment undertaking activities, including preparation of limit approval proposals to Risk
  • Support deal team in efforts to expand existing client relationships both in the core lending products and through “cross-sell” initiatives with Financial Markets, M&A, Advisory, and DCM among others
  • Prepare and maintain new business marketing materials and aid in prospecting efforts

Specific tasks include:

  • Monitor market developments and assist in identifying new commercial opportunities
  • Establish and maintain relations with other banks/peers active in the market
  • Act in support of deal teams in their responsibility for all stages of origination and execution of individual transactions, including:
    • prepare and present transactions to ING’s commercial approval platform
    • pitch new transactions to existing and prospective clients
    • assist in structuring financing solutions for existing and prospective clients
    • learn the receivable discounting product and facilitate the approval and execution of those transactions
    • credit analysis (including preparation of credit applications and timely submission of annual/quarterly reviews to ING Risk)
    • process amendment and waiver requests
    • build a rapport and positive dialogue with credit risk management
    • execute Admin/MLA function for lead deals where applicable
    • coordinate with all relevant internal and external stakeholders including cross-sell product teams and Syndications
    • legal documentation negotiation and execution process
  • Coordinate administrative and monitoring processes
  • Responsible for customer due diligence and compliance-related tasks in coordination with ING’s CDD Unit
  • Support Head of TCF US in the implementation of TCF policy in relation to the markets in which TCF US operates
  • Participation in ING’s in-house training curriculum as well as in external courses and seminars
  • Attend industry conferences

Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor’s or Master's Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics, Mathematics or closely related field
  • Minimum 4 years of relevant experience
  • High proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)

Salary Range: $120,000-$155,000
