The Mission

The Chapter Lead’s role is to build, manage and develop a team of ETL DevOps engineers working on the Data Lake. He/She will act as a Lead and Coach on technical side, but also a People Manager (including performance management) and will be part of the Data Management department.

Your day to day

Even if you’ll start your day from the comfort of your home or drink your morning coffee in our office’s garden, your day will be quite similar when comes to tasks. Here are your daily responsibilities:

  • Articulate the product vision while capturing input from the stakeholders
  • Provide continuous coaching and mentoring by clarifying job responsibilities, setting performance expectations through the establishment of goals and job competencies, identifying skill gaps, creating development plans and evaluating performance.
  • People Management of highly talented ETL and Data engineers, located in Bucharest and/or India.
  • Contribute to strategy and lifecycle management of Data Lake implementation
  • Identify gaps with your team and drive improvements initiatives
  • Assess the efficiency of end-to-end operational processes by identifying and mitigating risks
  • Collaborate closely with an international team made of IT Leads, Chapter Leads, Product Owners, Agile Coaches, Business Analysts, Architects, ETL DevOps engineers and Infrastructure Specialists.
  • Safeguard usage of Agile - Scrum principles in day-to-day work of the team
  • Up to date with the latest industry standards and trends in the area of Data Management

What you’ll bring to the team

  • Experience:
    • People Manager of a development team
    • Strong technical background on data delivery
    • Linux operating system or other Unix systems
    • With Agile – Scrum methodology
    • In Banking industry is considered a plus
  • Tech stack/ knowledge:
    • Mandatory: Oracle database, Data Lake and Big Data concepts, IBM DataStage, IBM Cloud Pack for Data or any other ETL/ELT tool; database concepts, database design, data analysis and performance tuning
    • Nice to have: Python, Kafka, Java
  • Soft skills:
    • Excellent communication and leadership skills
    • Ability to translate functional and non-functional requirements (eg. Security, Scalability, Integration)
    • prioritize requests and assess possible impact of changes into a dynamic environment
    • define/improve working procedures

Foreign languages: English (advanced)

Education: Bachelor’s Degree (or higher) in an IT related field
