Your role and work environment

 

Within ING, a Data Quality Pillar has been established to ensure that ING Bank has trustable data which is fully fit for the purpose (timely, complete, accurate, adoptable, comprehensive, consistent, and appropriate), facilitated by a state-of-the-art data architecture and IT infrastructure.

 

As part of the Vortex Data Operations team, you are considered the single point of entry for all Vortex-related questions. The objective of the team is to ensure that credit risk data is loaded correctly and shown timely in the system. You will be operating in a diverse and multi-cultural environment, it’s essential that you are comfortable in dealing with different stakeholders at all levels.

 

 

Your key responsibilities

 

·       Monitoring data loads and follow up for end of month and daily deliveries

·       Provide support for data delivery and data availability questions

·       Run and maintain existing SQL or SAS monitoring solutions in case of changes

·       Develop solutions in SQL/SAS for monitoring, as needed

·       Distribute production data files for support initiatives

·       Coordinate and facilitate test cycle for data delivery changes

·       Provide advice on flow set up, cross reference set-up and static data maintenance procedures for new data delivery

·       Test delivered information on completeness and accuracy

·       Provide support for data delivery change management questions

·       Collect source data and approval from local sources

·       Generate data extracts using MS Excel, Macros and Access

·       Perform sanity checks on the collected data

·       Analyse the trends in the data for quality improvements

·       Work with colleagues in Amsterdam to overcome the current data quality issues and align on remediation of spotted quality issues

·       Coordinate and communicate with local units on next steps for improvements

·       Continuously improve the way you work and strive to work as part of a high-performing team and contribute to the ING One Agile Way of Working and safeguard the Orange Code.

We are looking for an energetic and driven expert with passion for data management or data operations and with strong analytical capabilities who uses state-of-the-art methods and techniques for data analysis. You have integral, domain-exceeding knowledge on Data Analysis in one or more areas of the Risk and Finance business.

 

You are an excellent communicator and able to build bridges between different stakeholders. You can convincingly put forward your proposals and are a real team player in reaching broad agreement on the road to follow. In this way, you can contribute to delivering standardised, uniform and fully adapted solutions to complex business issues and processes.

 

 

Skills required

 

·       You have a college degree in e.g. Mathematics, Informatics, Econometrics, Computer/Data Science, Information Management or Statistics

·       Proven experience in using SQL, SAS Base and/or SAS Enterprise Guide

·       Knowledgeable in data management, extraction, analysis and report creation using SQL, SAS, MS Excel or MS Access.

·       Fluent in English (written and verbal)

·       Comfortable to communicate and liaise with senior business users and stakeholders

·       Service-minded attitude with a passion to help others

·       Ability to clearly communicate your analyses, ideas, results and thoughts is essential

·       Pro-active and learning attitude and strive to continuously improve

·       Knowledge and working experience on risk concepts, policies and the financial sector in general is desirable

·       Affinity with technology in general and being able to quickly learn new tools is helpful

·       You have integral, cross-domain knowledge and experience

·       Experienced in relevant tooling such as PowerBI, Tableau, R, SQL is a plus

·       You take responsibility to get the work done

·       You actively ask for help and feedback and are not afraid to give feedback

·       You are an energetic, motivating person who can work as part of a multidisciplinary team and who can also work independently, think, and act out of the box and take accountability.
