The role is responsible for the growth and development of the Financial Institutions business in Japan with focus on the Non-bank Financial Institutions (NBFI) business in Japan.  This would entail the development and execution of the FI business strategy in Japan working in close collaboration with local, regional and global product partners.  This is a combined business leadership and senior coverage role .

Business development

  • Taking an active role to:-     
    • establish and maintain a clearly articulated strategy for the growth of the FI business in Japan.  It is expected that this strategy should be updated at least annually. 
    • Identify resource / product capability requirements needed to grow the business and preparing appropriate business plans to support the investment into additional resources / product capabilities in Japan
    • Drive the development of onshore and offshore development capabilities to support needs of FI Japan clients.    
  • The NBFI segment is identified as a key growth area for FI Japan and the role would be responsible for developing and implementing the Japan NBFI growth strategy. This would involve close collaboration with the FM team in Japan
  • Participation in key speaking opportunities at industry events to raise awareness of ING’s brand and capabilities in the Financial Institutions space.

FI Team Leadership

  • Origination of new revenue streams, whilst ensuring that credit exposure and associated systemic risks are appropriately monitored, controlled and mitigated   
  • Ensure that the portfolio is KYC compliant across initiating and booking locations

Relationship Management

  • Working as a Global Relationship Banker & FI Senior Relationship Manager to develop, broaden and grow profitable long-term relationships with key allocated clients in Japan
  • Manage counterparty limits for the existing clients via a bi-annual Financial Sector review and additional limit requirements in alignment with relevant product stakeholders
  • Support network businesses for overseas FIs operating in Japan, which are under FI Japan LAMship.

  • Adhere to all ING policies and complete all mandatory training requirements. Maintain an open and transparent culture by reporting all incidents.
