Your role & work environment

As an Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) officer specialized on regulatory topics and Basel environment, you provide relevant risk insights to set and manage the risk appetite, and ensure that stakeholders get the appropriate, timely and correct advice. You do this by collecting input from various expert areas and risk analytics and combine this information into a comprehensive story and a holistic perspective of the Bank risk profile.

You are member of Regulatory, Models and Capital Integration team that belongs to the Risk department. The team is composed of six members including the manager and divided into two poles:

4 modelers for modelling activities. 1 ERM officer for regulatory and capital integration activities.

You will belong to the regulatory and capital integration pole which is led to interact and increasingly collaborate with the modelling pole to enhance synergies within the team and more widely within the Risk department.

Your key responsibilities

The candidate will mainly act on the responsibilities described below:

  • Review the Solvency & Credit risk appetite, aligned to INGs strategic ambitions and associated risks.
  • Be the local owner of Resolution and Recovery plan to coordinate and set local guidance aligned with Group guidance.
  • Help stakeholder to pro-actively manage the risk appetite.
  • Coordinate the risk identification and assessment process and design the stress testing program used for the IC/LAAP exercise.
  • Execute Solvency & Credit risk stress testing driven by global scenarios and sensitivities analysis in the framework of IC/LAAP, or more generally respond to ad hoc requests for both internal and regulatory purposes.
  • Perform and analyse impacts’ simulation from Basel 4 framework in collaboration with local and central teams and prepare synthesis documents of the outcomes.
  • Help preparing quarterly the COREP Solvency reporting (focus on credit risk) in collaboration with Finance division.

Additionally, the candidate shall:

  • Ensure reasonableness of modelled Risk Weighted Assets, Expected Credit Losses and Economic Capital:
    • Monitor external macro-economic events and their impact on the portfolio performance.
    • Strengthen the forward-looking perspective of credit risk metrics including Ifrs-9 provision, RWA, EL and Economic Capital.
    • Execute sensitivity analysis on individual risk drivers.
  • Support the team on integration of climate risk component within RMC and more widely the Risk department:
    • Ensure the climate risk compliance with Group guidance and decline it operationally at local level.
    • Analyse and implement the climate risk models aligned with ING standards and articulate using of these models with existing risk models especially in credit risk and stress-testing.
  • Be a referent on regulatory topics (Resolution and recovery plan, Basel 4, etc…) providing guidance to other risk teams and helping them converting regulatory guidelines into functional needs.
  • Ensure compliance with regulation related to financial risks as coordinator and in collaboration with other risk teams, and help preparing the regulatory watch on a quarterly basis.
  • Answer questions from the Business, Finance, external auditors, regulators, or rating agencies related to Solvency and Credit risk.

For this purpose, you will also: 

  • Acquire a very good knowledge of the Bank’s portfolio, the related reporting infrastructure of ING Group (Vortex) and the management tools.
  • Maintain a wide variety of contacts with internal teams at ING Luxembourg (other Risk teams, Finance, Group Treasury, various delivery tribes, etc…), our parent company ING Belgium, Head-Office in Amsterdam, and external stakeholders (auditors, CSSF, etc…).

As an ERM officer, we require:

  • Master's degree (Economics, Finance, other)
  • Relevant experience (+5 years) in ERM and Financial analytics
  • Significant experience related to regulatory guidelines (SRB, CRR, CSSF and ECB)
  • A fluent level in English (written and oral communicator)
  • A good knowledge of MS Office
  • Data-minded: Experience in SAS EG / credit reporting software and SQL is a plus
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Autonomy and team work
  • Willingness to learn
