We have an internship opening in the following department:
Sector Coverage | Transport & Logistics | based in Singapore

The team is responsible for client relationship management and portfolio management for Asia Pacific based companies active in among others Shipping, Logistics and Aviation. The day to day activities include originating, structuring and executing financial transactions including loans, revolving credit facilities, structured financial markets products (including hedging of interest rates, currencies and fuel) as well as portfolio management and other related tasks. Our strategy is to be a step ahead in life and in business and we are actively
pursuing more sustainable and innovative solutions for our clients who are mostly large global companies. The Transport & Logistics sector is fast evolving and plays a vital role in today’s supply chains and global economy. More importantly for ING, steering the bank’s Transport and Logistics portfolio towards net zero emissions is one of the key focus areas across sub sectors.

The Singapore office is the regional Asia Pacific headquarter with more than 600 employees and you will regularly interact with colleagues from different teams and departments.

Duties and responsibilities

  • Assist with portfolio emissions analysis and reporting for Shipping clients;

  • Understand and assess the application of climate scenarios and decarbonization trajectories relevant to the Shipping business;

  • Participate in sustainability analytics product development;

  • Assist with (ad hoc) reporting tasks, covenant tracking, admin forms, banking procedures and due diligence (know-your customer) process;

  • Assist in identifying and monitoring market developments and opportunities;

  • Prepare credit analysis and reviews, including financial modelling, financial analysis, rating analysis and market updates.

What are the skills and qualifications required for the role?

  • Affinity with accounting, data analytics and financial modelling; Transportation, finance, accounting or business studies with a keen interest to develop a career in the financial services sector;

  • Familiarity with Power BI, Python and similar tools will be an advantage;

  • Interest in sectoral decarbonization frameworks and climate scenarios is an advantage;

  • An effective team player with good interpersonal and communication skills;

  • Detail oriented, systematic and strong analytical skills;

  • High level of self-motivation and professionalism with ability to multi-task;

  • Ability to work independently;

  • Good command of spoken and written English
