We started out in 2015 as ING’s software development hub – a distinct entity from ING Bank Romania – then steadily expanded our range to include more services and competencies.

Formerly known as ING Tech, as of 2022 we provide borderless services with bank-wide capabilities under the name of ING Hubs Romania and operate from two locations: Bucharest and Cluj-Napoca.

With the help of over 1600 engineers, risk, and operations professionals, we offer 130 services in tech, non-financial risk & compliance, audit and retail operations to 24 ING units worldwide.

Our tech capabilities remain the core of our business, with more than 1300 colleagues active in Data Management, TouchPoint Channels & Integration, Core Banking, and Global Products.

The Mission

• WBAA TS Squad empowers Wholesale Banks Transaction Service Business Unit (ca 1 bn€ income) with data expertise and solutions,
• Our mission is to provide the go-to insights solution to monitor a global business and increase profitability by enabling data-driven decisions for more than 300 users,
• Our currently 11-people strong, cross-functional team both discovers and delivers data products that combine data visualization with advanced analytics,
• As an engineer, you will have the opportunity to work on large and complex data sets of a global bank, and guiding the team to build feasible, best-in-class analytics products that truly make an impact.

Your day to day

Even if you’ll start your day from the comfort of your home or drink your morning coffee in our office’s garden, your day will be quite similar when comes to tasks. Here are your daily responsibilities:

• Working with global banking datasets
• Guiding the team to build feasible, best-in-class analytics products.
• Building APIs for analytics purposes
• Building FE solutions on React
• Translating business rules from SMEs into data engineering paradigms
• Building systems for scale-optimizing TPS, securing data-flows, monitoring, alerting

What you’ll bring to the team

• Experience:
• Tech stack/ knowledge:
  • Mandatory:
    • Proficiency using at least one of the statically typed languages: Kotlin/GO/Scala
    • Experience building APIs
      • Backend service management
      • Authentication
      • Authorizations
      • Securing
    • Frontend: Proficiency using React
    • Experience building systems for scale-optimizing TPS, securing data-flows. Monitoring, alerting
  • Nice to have:
    • Previous experience within Analytics landscape
    • Previous experience with wholesale banking data.
• Foreign languages: English (advanced)
• Education: nice to have Bachelor’s Degree (or higher) in an IT related field
