About the position:

The Capital Markets & Advisory Early Career Track provides junior talent the opportunity to learn more about core and client facing areas of ING’s Capital Markets and Advisory (CM&A) business area. The aim of this program is to upskill talent and prepare you for future roles in our organization. During the program, junior analysts will get hands-on experience of what is involved in the day-to-day role as a junior team member in the Corporate Finance, Debt Capital Markets, Loan Distributions and Acquisition Finance teams. Junior analysts in the Early Career Track will be rotating across three to four CM&A teams, while senior analysts and associates will become permanent members of a CM&A team.

The senior analyst Corporate Finance role offers a mix of hands-on M&A transaction experience across industries and deal size ranges, with the majority having a cross-border aspect. You will work with other team members globally in the analysis, financial modeling, negotiation, sourcing, and managing of M&A transactions on behalf on ING’s clients, both financial sponsors and corporates. During the initial orientation period, you will receive initial training to introduce you to ING and the regulatory, legal and compliance components of your job. Thereafter and throughout your early career, you will participate in various trainings that will help build your hard and soft skills.

ING is seeking professional level employees that are keen to start or progress their careers in the investment banking industry. Currently, the Analyst role will start in the Corporate Finance team. This is a growing team in New York that is part of a dynamic global team which also operates out of ING’s offices in London, Amsterdam, Brussels, Frankfurt, Manila, Hong Kong and Singapore. Corporate Finance advises on a variety of transactions; including buy side and sell side mergers and acquisitions, strategic advisory and capital raisings. The team supports the ING client base across many sectors, with a focus on transportation and infrastructure, food and agriculture, midstream energy, telecom, media and technology (TMT). The team participates in all M&A transactions that touch the Americas.

Responsibilities :

  • You assist in the origination of new business opportunities by preparing and delivering client presentations, conducting sector and company research and tracking, as well as preparing briefing packages for both internal and external use
  • You support the execution efforts on M&A transactions and assist the team in ensuring timely and successful closings, working directly with senior team members
  • You respond to information requests from the Global Corporate Finance platform related to companies and businesses located in North America
  • You liaise closely with colleagues in other CM&A departments to deliver integrated solutions to ING’s clients
  • You increasingly contribute and become responsible for financial models and valuation analysis
  • You monitor relevant market information and take responsibility of collecting market data and dynamics in support of the CM&A teams and sector colleagues
  • You build your business and sector insight as well as solidify interpersonal skills
  • You contribute to revenue targets and assist in meeting the global budget
  • You serve as the point person to oversee /prepare various internal documentation requirements

Qualifications and Competencies

Qualifications / Education:

  • Recent graduate holding a Bachelor’s Degree, ideally in Business, Economics, Finance, or Advance Mathematics with excellent results

Experience / Knowledge:

  • You have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • You have 1 – 2 years of M&A origination and deal execution experience
  • You understand financial statements
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Foreign language capacity is helpful
  • You are expected to obtain Series 7 or 79, and 63 registrations shortly after starting the role

Salary Range $105,000-$115,000
