Formerly known as ING Tech, as of 2022 we provide borderless services with bank-wide capabilities under the name of ING Hubs Romania and operate from two locations: Bucharest and Cluj-Napoca.
With the help of over 1600 engineers, risk, and operations professionals, we offer 130 services in tech, non-financial risk & compliance, audit and retail operations to 24 ING units worldwide.
Our tech capabilities remain the core of our business, with more than 1300 colleagues active in Data Management, TouchPoint Channels & Integration, Core Banking, and Global Products.

The Mission
Your day to day
Even if you’ll start your day from the comfort of your home or drink your morning coffee in our office’s garden, your day will be quite similar when comes to tasks. Here are your daily responsibilities:
Support our Machine Learning Engineering squad in order to
- Help the Data Scientists convert their models to run on GCP Dataproc
- Modify/improve our Python in-house ML tool
- Help expending the cloud based platform
Live and breath ING’s culture
- Have an active role in embedding & strengthening the Agile way of working
- Put in place a culture of self-development, high performing teams & continuous improvement
What you’ll bring to the team
- Experience: minimum 3 years
- Tech stack/ knowledge:
- Mandatory:
- Unix/Linux abilities, Python
- Being hands-on with Big Data Tooling - Hadoop, Yarn, (Py)spark, Hive
- Schedulers (preferably Apache Airflow DAGS/Composer)
- Experience working with Google Cloud platform (GCP)
- Nice to have:
- General Web Architecture knowledges (DNS, Cloud storage, Networking, …)
- Familiarity with ELK stack and knowledge in how to integrate web applications with it
- Knowledge of Git
- Experience with CD/CI automation using any tools (Azure Devops is preferred)
- Awareness of IT Risk security themes and ability to act on vulnerability findings
- Knowledge of data manipulation and transformations using tools such as Spark, SQL, pandas, etc.
- Hand-on experience of Machine Learning Engineering concepts
- Mandatory:
- Foreign languages: English (advanced)
- Education: nice to have Bachelor’s Degree (or higher) in an IT related field
