Your working environment

Group Treasury is responsible for overseeing the global use of and contribution to financial benchmarks across ING, and maintains a sound governance and control framework around these activities to prevent any form of misconduct. Financial benchmarks are deeply ingrained within ING’s business, and you will have the opportunity to work on a broad variety of benchmark-related topics together with a wide range of stakeholders.

The team

You will be part of the CCT (Control, Change & Transformation) team, a ‘1st line of defence’ business control function within Group Treasury that is the linking pin between Front office and supporting departments. Within the CCT team, you will be closely collaborating with two senior experts in financial benchmarks, covering both business as usual and change activities. We are a team of professional, dedicated and result-oriented colleagues who help each other to be successful. We contribute to ING’s strategy by helping the bank stay safe and secure.

Key responsibilities

  • You drive the maintenance and evolution of the governance and control framework for ING’s contribution to Euribor
  • You connect and communicate wrt the governance and control framework for ING’s contribution to Euribor with colleagues from various departments
  • You keep global oversight of financial benchmark activities across ING Bank
  • You stay on top of regulatory requirements concerning the EU Benchmark Regulation
  • You monitor market developments in the reform of interest rate benchmarks, and initiating necessary follow-up actions (i.e. assessing their change impact on ING Bank)
  • You liaise with various internal and external parties involved, including Group Treasury, Compliance, Financial Risk, Legal, IT/Operations, Financial Markets, CAS, Euribor’s administrator EMMI and other contributing banks, external auditor, supervisor (AFM).

How to succeed

The ideal candidate feels comfortable in a Group Treasury environment and has affinity with internal governance processes. Furthermore, you have:

  • Affinity and/or existing knowledge of finance, banking or non-financial risk
  • The willingness to build a thorough understanding of the applicable regulatory environment on Benchmarks
  • Strong conceptual and analytical skills, attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills in English (oral and written)
  • Comfortable in building relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Self-motivated and delivery-oriented
  • Ability and willingness to adapt quickly to new concepts and procedures.
  • You are a collaborative team player who believes in and incorporates ING’s Orange Code into your daily work practices.
  • Prior knowledge of financial benchmarks, the EU Benchmark Regulation, Financial Market or Treasury would be an asset.
