As the ING Netherlands's Diversity, Inclusion and Belonging (DIB) Lead you will be part of the broader Talent & Learning Centre of Expertise (CoE) that ensures we can attract, develop, engage and retain the most talented people and help them grow and develop with ING. All this while ensuring representation on different dimensions of diversity helping ING build an inclusive culture.   

You play an instrumental role in ensuring ING develops a systemic approach to fuel our DIB and ESG views throughout our entire employee lifecycle. You’ll be a key leader within our Talent & Learning Netherlands team, helping to build a culture of equity, belonging and inclusion, by partnering with our key HR and senior leadership stakeholders to drive awareness, accountability and by showing up as a though leader in building scalable DIB and partially ESG solutions throughout the entire talent ecosystem at ING.  

The team 

The Netherlands Talent & Learning team enables ING’s business strategy by facilitating the development of our leaders and employees, ensuring they- and ING- are resilient and future-proof. We focus on delivering a truly engaging fully integrated career and leadership development paths, making sure our talent stays future proof and leading in the industry.    

Reporting to our Talent & Learning CoE Lead Netherlands and functionally into the Global Head of DIB, you will be working closely with your peers in the broader Talent and Learning teams in the Netherlands and global, as well as the Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) community in the Netherlands.   

Roles and responsibilities   
Under your leadership, we will set the ING Netherlands (NL) direction and vision on DIB and ESG, playing a key role in the design and implementation of inclusion strategies in culture-building, business practices and delivering inclusive, accessible employee experiences and products. This includes:  

  • Shape the NL direction on DIB in line with the Global strategy on DIB and define how to integrate our company wide ESG goals into our (existing) Talent & Learning portfolio.  

  • Analyze employee data to generate insights on employee experience and identify opportunities to improve our diversity and inclusion.  Use data to inform strategy, drive design, and track and measure impact. 

  • Partner with leaders to design and implement inclusion strategies in culture-building, business practices and delivering inclusive, accessible employee experiences and products.  

  • Co-Design with global DIB and ESG and implement evidence-based practices, grounded in behavioral science, to shape ING culture and leadership / employee behaviors.   

  • Bring together different HR departments (CEOs and HRBPs) to drive and oversee a systemic implementation of our DIB principles across the entire talent ecosystem at ING.  

  • Partner with employee-driven DIB networks within ING to help them create initiatives that support the DIB strategy and amplify their voice. 

  • Drive DIB goals through program management and defined project plans, including managing implementation of all activities, and developing processes, tools, metrics and communications for rollout and ongoing support.  

  • Coach, guide and operate as a trusted advisor to senior leaders, including ExCo and HR Directors, on DIB related topics. Partner with our ESG team on how to bring our philosophy on ESG at ING to life through our learning solutions and T&L products.    

  • Take responsibility for identifying and developing strategic organizational diversity and inclusion policies across ING, including suppliers.   

  • Actively represent ING in investor, industry, and professional forums. Cultivate relationships in the external market and manages key strategic partnerships on behalf of ING.  

  • Ensure we drive internalisation of ESG related topics through learning programs (partnering with your colleagues in Growth & Careers).

To play your part in our Talent & Leadership team succeeding, you ideally bring:   

  • 8+ years’ professional experience with proven D&I / HR / Talent focus areas and delivering business outcomes in a corporate matrix organization environment.  

  • A proven track record of experience in driving scalable and sustainable DIB and ESG awareness and programs, leading to large scale cultural transformation at a midsized to large company in the Netherlands.   

  • Outside looking mindset: closely following DIB and ESG related trends and innovations in and outside the financial industry including strong relationships with industry leaders and vendors on DIB.   

  • Affinity with numbers and data and a good understanding on how data analysis and reporting support building better people solutions.  

  • Significant project and program management experience with ability to balance multiple projects in various stages of design and delivery.   

  • Ability to influence, involve, empower and encourage stakeholders across all levels of our matrixed organisation and ability to build a broad network of productive and strong working relationships.   

  • Experience managing and being accountable for a budget.   

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills (business English) in order to bring a compelling story and engage stakeholders on new or existing people solutions.
