Database administrator PostgreSQL and Oracle

We are looking for you, if you:

• are an ambitious DevOps Engineer with an expertise in database administration who can add value based on his/her in depth technical knowledge,
• are passionate, bring new ideas, open to suggestions and a great team player,
• have experience managing PostreSQL in Azure Cloud e.g.,
  • with High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR) options for PostgreSQL,
  • performance tuning/optimization,
  • backups, restores, recoveries,
• already processed a migration from Oracle to PostgreSQL in cloud,
• have 5+ years of experience.

You'll get extra points for:

• good communication skills and opennes to learn new skills,
• understanding Infra/System reliability, resiliency, Reusability, scalability and fault tolerance/recovery,
• knowing Agile/Scrum practice, methodologies and attitudes,
• experience in automation scripting using one or more of the following languages: Perl, Ruby, Bash, Python, PowerShell,
• experience with Monitoring and Alerting solutions (ELK, Grafana, Prometheus, Alert manager),
• experience of Oracle DB e.g.,
  • Data Pump , Schema Refreshes Experience in RMAN,
  • cloning the database from Prod to Test environments,
  • performance issues troubleshooting,
  • analyzing AWR report, rebuilding indexes, defragmentation of tables etc.,
  • CDB – PDB architecture,
  • RAC, Data Guard Architecture.

Your responsibilities:

• involve in the whole development life cycle (including our 97 databases) from refining user stories until monitoring software in production,
• the migration of databases from the Oracle environment to PostgreSQL in cloud,
• close collaboration within and across the squads and with the consumer,
• help your team grow and think of ways to make solutions scalable and future proof,
• search and propose solutions using the newest technologies,
• design, develop and implement continuous improvement processes through automation.

Part of our Platform as a service model, we are providing to our customers services like: Software reusable components, Infrastructure, Life cycle management, Pipelines, Self service capabilities, and Architectural designed guidance, in order for them to build on top of the Platform their customer journey applications, helping them with the heavy lifting of the activities that are not a differentiator in their value proposition and providing them with great opportunities for re-use cross teams, domains and countries.
