As an Asset Manager Lease you work in the ING Lease NL organization of Business Banking in The Netherlands.

Your job consists of a large number end-to-end responsibilities, all related to the management of expertise and knowledge around Leasable assets, amongst others;  

  • You develop in-depth knowledge on asset categories; life span, technical knowledge, value curves, residual values, future market view, asset risk, sustainable contribution to society. You gather your information by amongst others desk research, supplier visits, seminars, client and sector expert interviews, trend watching. 
  • Development of new (sustainable) asset categories; building new QRC’s (ING Lease asset policies) for new assets categories. You are able to turn the outcome of a research report into commercial opportunities without losing focus on the asset risk and the risks of lease structures.
  • Advice Lease Specialists on assets and optimal lease structures. You approve assets and lease structures as part of the Lease Approval Process.
  • Act as internal/external point of expertise for assets, Lease sectors and essential themes like sustainability. You will present ING’s view by news articles, organize round tables, being spokesperson in ING Talkings.

In your job you work closely together with ING Economists, Sector Banking, Risk management, ING Groen Bank, Lease Specialist, Industry associations and external experts.

The Team

You are part of Sale Lease NL team. The team consists of Lease specialists and Asset Managers. The asset categories are divided amongst the Asset Managers. Your focus will be on assets in the Industry, Food & Agri and Building and Rental Equipment sectors.

Roles and responsibilities

  • You have expertise and experience in relation to the Lease product.
  • You have final accountability for the development of expertise on assets, assets categories and maintenance of the available knowledge (policy papers, filing, database, papers) including data monitoring on assets.
  • You develop new asset developments in new QRC and commercial and sustainable Lease propositions. You are able to turn conceptual information or the outcome of certain research into commercial opportunities.
  • You are the point of contact for Lease advisors for all questions and advice on assets and asset ownership structures.
  • You are able to investigate asset values and asset risks accordingly
  • You are responsible for the decision about assets and assets structures in the Lease Annex and Lease requests of Lease Specialists. In this role you form your own and independent opinion.
  • You are an authoritative and expert partner in discussion about assets, asset policies, assets developments in sectors and asset risks with Lease Specialist, Relationship managers Midcorp and SME, Sector Banking, Economic Bureau, Risk Management and external parties (if needed).
  • Based on your expertise, you can act as a sparring partner at various levels when discussing asset-based financing (for example with clients, asset producers or outside ING sector Experts ).
  • You are one of the Asset Managers within ING Lease, you all have your own responsibilities but closely working together, using each other’s knowledge, keeping each other sharp and up to date.
  • You actively monitor developments, trends and innovations in the field of Leasing (and Lending in general) in the sectors assigned to you. You inform Lease Specialists about imminent policy or legislative changes in relation to relevant Lease developments. Highly self-starting, focused on innovations. You react quickly in deal processes;
  • You actively seek help and feedback and are not afraid to give feedback.
  • You collaborate and help others within the business unit to be successful.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in Dutch and Englisch, excellent power point and excel skills.
