The world of Sales and Relationship

ING aims to provide professional and expert advice to its business customers, whatever the situation – whether it´s a matter of financing the family business, arranging credit facilities for an SME or setting up a complex financial construction for a multinational. Our corporate clients – and needless to say our individual customers – are entitled to expect the best possible level of service and the most suitable products for their specific needs.

A pivotal role in ING´s contact with the corporate sector

Our account managers and relationship managers immerse themselves in our customers´ businesses and markets. Their area of specialism is irrelevant – it could be business banking or wholesale banking, at local or sector level, or even as the main contact for multinationals. Whatever the level, the relationship managers play a crucial role in our contact with corporate clients.

Customer Service, advice from the call centres

150,000 customers contact ING every day. ING does business with 33 million customers worldwide, 9 million of them just in the Netherlands alone. This translates into more than 10 million inbound telephone calls and around 750,000 e-mails received by ING’s call centres each year. On top of this, MijnING.nl enables ING customers to access their finances online round the clock, which often generates up to 1 million page views per hour at peak times.

The advisors at the call centres talk to thousands of (potential) customers every day about our banking and savings products, mortgages and insurance packages. They are on hand to deal with all manner of questions, requests and complaints, ensuring that as many as possible are dealt with swiftly and satisfactorily.

Intensive and thorough contact with your customers

Within Sales and Relationship Management at ING you have intensive and thorough contact with customers, which requires that you have a certain level of knowledge and understanding. You should know about forms of credit, for example, as well as about the sector(s) you are working in. You should be able to spot trends and developments and interpret the implications for the sector and the market as a whole. You are in charge of your own portfolio and your own customers. We work with ambitious targets for establishing durable customer relationships, so it´s essential that you´re well-organised and able to work independently.

Contact with major corporate clients

Working within Wholesale Banking, you´ll be dealing with our biggest corporate clients. This is a very international part of the business in which you work closely with specialist departments dedicated to areas such as Pay & Cash Management, Treasury or General Lending. Your clients are large and complex, and the stakes are high.

With freedom comes responsibility

Whilst it´s certainly a demanding role, you also receive a lot in return: a dynamic job within a highly professional organisation, an environment that encourages you to continue to learn and to grow, a great sense of freedom and responsibility, regular contact with businesses and managers across a wide range of sectors and, last but not least, ING´s excellent salary and other benefits.
