ING is looking for an experienced DevOps Engineer with Calypso Techno functional experience within the Financial Markets & Group Treasury (FM&GT) domain. Our primary function is to service the needs of ING’s clients with products, services and advice. FM&GT aims to be a leading market player in our home markets, with an additional presence in all the major international markets and specialist expertise in selected emerging markets and products.

The Team:

As a Calypso expert, you will join a FXMM Hedging Calypso-Collateral scrum team and contribute in an Agile way to the full lifecycle of the application, from analysis to implementation, using our Continuous Delivery pipeline. You develop complex new functionalities and coordinate implementations on the Calypso Production environment.

Global Calypso team is divided into 4 squads spread across Netherlands, Singapore and India with each squad having members in NL and India or SG and India. Calypso is the system responsible mainly for the Back Office and Collateral operations that enable crucial commercial activities of ING. Tens of thousands of trades are being processed in real-time by our systems every hour. Flawless processing or immediate correction is key as trades covering billions of euros are passing through our systems each day.

The Calypso Global Team is an experienced, international and flexible team with over 30 members located across 3 locations. Together with your team, you will work on strategic projects that are keeping ING up to date with the latest Financial Market Standards while constantly improving the system.

Calypso's current technology stack:

  • Calypso v16, Java 1.8+, Spring

  • Oracle

Responsibilities include:

  • Work with Product Owner to understand and refine functional specifications and how they translate into application features.

  • Use Calypso, Java and other supporting tools to build the requested features.

  • Work on strategic projects and coordinate with other IT teams. Be able to take a leading role when needed.

  • Be part of a DevOps teams in global Calypso and interact, support business users and stakeholders within different geographic locations of ING.

  • Provide recommendations and help improve development tools and processes

  • Apply Agile methodology and work in bi-weekly sprints to achieve efficient results in projects.

  • You bring seniority to the team and share your knowledge and best practices with the ING Calypso community.

How to succeed

  • 5+ years Calypso experience.

  • Strong knowledge of the Calypso back office (message setups, trades, transfers, workflows, accounting).

  • Java hands-on programming knowledge. - Experience with Java 8 (or higher versions).

  • Ability to use IDE and debug custom code / calypso API’s for trouble shooting issues.

  • Experience working in Agile/Scrum and with CD/CI pipelines.

  • Ability to write complex SQL’s.

  • Basic knowledge of payment processing.

  • Functional Product Experience with Financial Markets like Money Market, FX and Securities products.

  • Strong analytical skills and ability to design end to end solutions.

  • Eagerness to learn new things and get involved in complex projects.

  • Ability to communicate well with business users and stakeholders.

Nice to have skills:

  • Experience with calypso collateral Module.

  • Knowledge of Collateral processing & bank Treasury main activities.

  • Experience in multi-location teams.

  • Project coordination skills.

  • Experience in Agile Way of working, Scrum etc.

  • Experience with opensource testing tools (eg – Concordion, Junit, Cucumber)
