Imagine this: you have made your decision and want to go for it. Here is a description of the general job application process. The procedure could possibly vary for specific roles. In this case the recruiter will inform you.

The world is in the grip of the corona virus. ING is following the situation closely and is taking the necessary health and safety measures to ensure the wellbeing of its customers, employees and candidates. Despite these exceptional circumstances, we are committed to continuing our recruitment activities. Please refer to the steps and updates below for more information regarding the recruitment and selection process at ING.

Step 1: CV

Send us your CV and cover letter. We will email you a confirmation of receipt. Our recruiter will assess your CV.

→ If your profile matches the job requirements we will invite you to participate in our screening process.

→ We aren’t sure you fit the job? We’ll let you know by email that your application was rejected.

Step 2: Screening

Your first interview with our recruiter will take place by phone call or via a video screening tool. We use video screening for all Customer Loyalty Team member and Retail sales functions. (Internal candidates are out of scope for video screening).

After the phone / video screening the recruiter will enter into consultation with the hiring manager / business unit.

→ When positive, we will invite you for further testing.

→ We aren’t sure you fit the job requirements? We’ll let you know by email that your application was rejected.

Step 3: Testing

We will send you a link to some tests where we will assess your qualifications and your fit with our values.

→ You passed the tests? We will invite you for an interview.

→ You didn’t pass the tests?  We’ll let you know by email that your application was rejected.

Step 4: Interviews

We will invite you for a Skype interview with HR and the business unit.

[Update] Until further notice, the interviews will only take place via Skype call. The recruiter and hiring manager will send you an invitation with a link with which you can participate in the call.

→ It’s a match! Your recruiter will compile a salary package for you.

The recruiter will then contact you by telephone (or Skype) to discuss the salary proposal.

→ We aren’t sure you fit the job? Then you will receive concrete feedback from the recruiter via telephone (or Skype).

Step 5: Contract

[Update] All new contracts are drawn up with the start date of 18.05.2020 at the earliest (subject to change)

Contract signature is currently handled by post mail and e-mail.

The recruiter draws up your contract. You sign, send it back and… Welcome on board!
